Forget the typical weekend routine. If a meal doesn’t come with a side of panoramic city views and a dash of interactive adrenaline, is it even a weekend? TRACE Restaurant & Bar, perched majestically on Level 40 of Element Kuala Lumpur, is rewriting the rulebook on hotel dining. Starting March 28 and 29, the city skyline is the setting for a brand-new Semi-Buffet concept that perfectly balances the “choose-your-own-adventure” energy of a buffet with the refined precision of made-to-order gourmet mains.

Pedal for Your Pudding: The Earth Hour Challenge

The launch kicks off with a literal spark. On Saturday, March 28, TRACE is inviting guests to dine under the stars and then power them. From 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM, the restaurant will dim the lights for the “Light Up the Stars” Earth Hour challenge.

It’s a riveting experience where guests can hop on stationary bikes to power the room’s lighting. It’s the ultimate way to justify that extra helping of dessert while competing for exciting prizes. And for those bringing the whole crew? Groups of four dining that evening will be treated to a complimentary Seafood Paella topped with Lobster Thermidor. It’s high-stakes, high-flavour, and high-altitude fun.

The Menu: A Masterclass in “Made-to-Order”

The beauty of this new concept lies in the freedom. Guests can graze through an unlimited spread of appetisers and desserts while waiting for their choice of 18 to 25 freshly cooked mains to arrive at the table. No more lukewarm heat lamps, just kitchen-to-table excellence.

The Carnivore’s Corner: Indulge in Grilled Lamb Slices drizzled with punch Sarawak Pepper Sauce or fall-of-the-bone BBQ Braised Beef Short Ribs.

The Ocean’s Best: Seafood lovers can dive into Pan-Seared Salmon with Lemon Cream Sauce, or the Saturday dinner exclusive: Baked Gratinated Oysters and Spicy Fried Soft-Shell Crab.

A Local Love Letter: For a taste of home, the Wok-Fried Salted Egg Shrimp and crispy Sotong Celup Tepung with garlic chilli dip are absolute must-tries.

Whimsical Sundays & Sunset Sips

easter at TRACE

The excitement continues well into the following week. On April 5, TRACE transforms into an Easter wonderland from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. While the adults enjoy a Sunday Brunch (RM98 nett), the kids can embark on an epic egg hunt and get creative with egg painting. Keep an eye out for the Easter-themed desserts, they are as Instagrammable as they are delicious.

Santai petang afternoon tea

For those looking for a midweek escape, the Santai Petang Afternoon Tea (launching April 1) offers a “chill” alternative to the standard high tea. For RM118 nett for two, enjoy a fusion of local and Western treats like Prawn Katafi and Pandan Som Som while the sun dips below the Kuala Lumpur horizon.
