A First Look At The New Ferretti Yachts 500.
The recently launched Ferretti Yachts 500 spearheads the entire model range of Ferretti Yachts in adopting the new “Just Like Home” philosophy, expressing a life at sea that perfectly combines style and comfort. A collaboration between the Product Strategy Committee headed by Ing. Piero Ferrari, the Ferretti Group Engineering Department, Filippo Salvetti for the exteriors and design studio Ideaeitalia for the new design concept, the new Ferretti Yachts 500 is a welcoming and versatile space that defines nautical adventures and a domestic dimension for the total well-being of those onboard.
At 50ft 4in with a beam of 14ft 2in, the Ferretti Yachts 500 is designed to offer the owner all the opportunities of a larger craft. New aerodynamic design and sleek streamlined shapes, new solutions, generous spaces, enhancements of windows characterised by wide, modern shapes – these are some of the new features which are integrated with the philosophies initiated with the latest models in the range.
“The design of the new Ferretti Yachts 500 highlights an overall dynamism thanks to the new and innovative stylistic features of the superstructure. A natural heir to the Ferretti Yachts 720, it reinterprets the new styles of the range in a very personal way. It proposes a layout based on a design centred on people and their life onboard, a typical approach of the Ferretti DNA. The two different moods of decor by Ideaeitalia studio perfectly reflect the JUST LIKE HOME philosophy and are able to satisfy the tastes of every customer” stated Filippo Salvetti, the exterior design architect.
Starting from the stern area, the swim platform features optional steps when submerged for total safety while entering the water – lifted by a new generation lift system. Additionally, the stern area also houses a generous storage area. The cockpit area is accessed via two side stairs from the swim platform, a feature common on larger yachts. Commonly used for relaxing sessions or al fresco dining suitable for up to 8 pax, the area can also be converted into a sun lounge through reclining the backrest of the sofa and converting the table into seating with cushions.
Moving up, the flybridge of the Ferretti Yachts 500 is a multi-purpose area suitable for most occasions. The aft is designated as a dining area, dominated by a C-shaped sofa that extends around both sides of the stern section and it faces a table that can be extended to seat more guests. On the starboard side of the bow section lies a large sunpad with double backrest. Alongside it, the exterior helm station with a new concept dashboard and dedicated pilot seat.
Forward bow section lies a large central sun pad with reclining backrests for full optional beach area.
Transitioning from exterior to the interior, a glass door seamlessly borders the outdoors and indoors. Next to this glass door is a tilting glass window, one of the first Ferretti Yachts innovations repurposed on this yacht. Together with a strategically positioned galley, it makes it possible to efficiently serve both lounge and cockpit areas without fuss.
The main deck features a spacious lounge area with two large sofas and a coffee table that can be transformed into a dining table. Forward starboard side lies the helm station with a brand new compact dashboard design that is functional for maximum comfort and convenience.
On the lower deck, the Ferretti Yachts 500 comes with an option of two different layouts. The first option offers a spacious master cabin and a VIP cabin, both with a private bathroom and a small laundry. The second option includes a master cabin, a VIP cabin and a double cabin with two single beds and two bathrooms. The purposeful designed big windows allows for proper natural light in the bathrooms.
The full-beam master cabin lies in the centre of the yacht and it features novel design solutions. A full width mirror behind the bed increases the sense of spaciousness. Its layout also caters for a TV area for screens up to 43 inches, roomy lockers and drawers.
An additional advantage for this market segment, the huge aft peak on the lower deck can be converted into a crew cabin upon request.
Understated and sophisticated with a feeling of discreet luxury, the interiors of the Ferretti Yachts 500 brings together the best of Made In Italy excellence, with names like Graniti Fiandre, Galassia and OML for the bathroom fittings, Colombo handles, Cadorin parquet, Pellini lacquered venetian blinds, Zimmer+Rohde sofas, Paffoni mixer taps and Gentili Mosconi Home Collection of fabrics for Ferretti Yachts.
Yet another first, the Ferretti Yachts 500 will be offering two options for interior moods – Classic and Contemporary. The Classic interior was inspired by warm tones dominated by dark oak paired with both glossy and matte lacquers in shades of black and white. Brown and beige fabrics and leathers are also applied together with shiny nickel detailing and dark marble-effect stoneware in the bathrooms accentuating a timeless style.
The Contemporary interior is inspired by Mediterranean colours. With a bright theme, the dominant wood is oak in its different shades of sand on bulkheads, furniture and parquet, and in white shades for the glossy and white lacquers. Glass, polished steel, fabrics in shades of grey, light blue and beige are tastefully combined to create a sophisticated, contemporary environment. The white marble-effect stoneware in the bathrooms enriches the interior design in elegance.
The Ferretti Yachts 500 is powered with a pair of 550 map Cummins QSB 6.7 engines, allowing for a top speed of 30 knots and a cruising speed of 25 knots. It is also fitted with a set of Humphree dynamic trim interceptors with automatic operating mode in ensuring maximum simplicity of use and optimised consumption. It can also be fitted with gyroscopic stabilisation for maximum stability both at anchor and when cruising upon request.
