Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Kuala Lumpur Offers Full Black Badge Family Range.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Kuala Lumpur recently introduced the latest addition to the Black Badge stable – the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Cullinan. With this new addition, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Kuala Lumpur completes the Black Badge range for the first time in Malaysia and stands as the only dealer in the region to offer Rolls-Royce’s full Black Badge family range.

Introduced for the first time in March 2016 with the Wraith and Ghost, followed by the Dawn in 2017 and most recently the Cullinan in late 2019, the Black Badge range was conceived as a permanent Bespoke family of motor cars that defined the taste patterns of an emerging generation of sophisticated super-luxury consumer – new groups of young and adventurous disruptors and innovators.

With the Black Badge Cullinan, clients can opt for the marque’s 44,000 ‘ready to wear’ paint options or commission an entirely Bespoke hue. However, the Black Badge’s signature Black proves to be the popular choice as the colour represents the most comprehensive surface finish process ever applied to a solid paint colour – with multiple layers – no less than 6 layers – of paint and lacquer meticulously applied and hand polished 10 times.A bespoke contrasting Coach-line further adds excitement to the styling.

The grand chrome finishings on surfaces such as the the Spirit of Ecstasy mascot, the front grille surround, side frame finishers, boot handle, boot trim, lower air inlet finisher and exhaust pipes are presented in high gloss black chrome, whilst the ‘Double R’ badges on the front, flanks and aft are inverted to become silver-on-black.

The Black Badge Cullinan sits on an all-new 22-inch forged alloy wheels which is exclusively reserved for the Cullinan, and for the first time in the marque’s history, the brake calipers are finishedin high gloss Red paint which has been specifically developed to withstand the rigours of elevated temperatures generated by the update braking system while still offering a smooth finish befitting of Rolls-Royce.

The interior of the Black Badge Cullinan gets the exquisite Technical Carbon Veneer – a naked-weave carbon-fibre finish with highly accurate repeating geometrical shapes. Each leaf of the Technical Carbon is finished with six coats of lacquer before being left to cure for 72 hours then hand-polished to Rolls-Royce’s hallmark mirror finish. A process that takes 21 days and is only deemed complete once every piece is inspected by a craftsperson in ensuring complete reflective uniformity across each of the 23 pieces within the car.

The Black Badge Cullinan also gets the Starlight Headliner presented in fine Black leather, handwoven with 1,344 fibre optic lights. Other fine touches includes the Infinity lemniscate motif embroidered into the fold-down rear arm-rest as well as adorning the illuminated treadplates and brush and darkened steel clock case.

Power of the Black Badge Culinan has been uprated, gaining an additional 29 PS of power and 50 Nm of torque to total 600 PS of power and a staggering 900 Nm of torque – extracted from the same 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12 power plant. In accentuating the signature deep bass acoustics of the engine, an entirely new exhaust system has been fitted in the Black Badge Cullinan. The Black Badge Cullinan also benefits from the enhancements to its transmission, suspension and braking performance.

“We are seeing a distinct change in the Super-luxury arena within Malaysia. Increasingly, we are welcoming younger, adventurous Rolls-Royce customer alongside our more established clientele. We have refreshed our Black Badge range for 2020, and have already seen strong interest from customers who are looking for something very contemporary and bold” – said Anas Zawawi Khalid, Executive Director for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Kuala Lumpur.
