Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has been known for their unmatched ability to deliver uniquely customized vehicles tailored to a client’s often highly specialized wishes, and have now unveiled their latest one-of-one Bespoke commission that strikingly reflects the commissioning client’s love of hiking and the outdoors, in the form of the Black Badge Cullinan Daisy. Based on the Black Badge Cullinan Series II, the Daisy pays tribute to the journey of its commissioning owner who found their success via the adventure and outdoor equipment sector. Inspired by a field of daisies on their favourite High Tatras mountain hiking trail, the Black Badge Cullinan Daisy is a testament to resilience and perseverance, much like its namesake that thrives bloomingly even in different conditions.
The commissioning client said, “My love for the outdoors has been a driving force behind both my personal passions and professional success. The inspiration for this commission came from a field of daisies on my favourite trail in the High Tatras mountains – a place I return to when I need to clear my thoughts. I’m continuously amazed not only by the beauty but the resilience of this flower that seems to thrive in the face of nature’s challenges. I envisioned Black Badge Cullinan Daisy as a symbol of perseverance – balancing strength with serenity”.
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Bespoke Design General Manager Martina Starke added, “This commission challenged us to explore how natural motifs can be translated through craft and materiality. From the delicately etched Blackwood to the daisy detail hidden inside the umbrellas, we told the client’s remarkable story through unexpected textures and an entirely new palette. Black Badge Cullinan Daisy is quietly confident, rich in symbolism, yet modern in execution. It also represents a different kind of Bespoke language where emotion is captured through restrained and thoughtful contrasts.

The Cullinan Daisy’s exterior blends potency with resilience thanks to the daisy Coachline motif that is hand-painted with careful precision as part of the single Coachline applied over its Powder Blue Exterior paintwork. This subtly elegant colour palette contrasts strikingly with the darkened Black Badge Pantheon Grille, Spirit of Ecstasy and exterior brightwork.

Moving inwards through its elegant Interior Suite, daisy motifs have been meticulously applied to the Blackwood front fascia and waterfall section between the rear seats, by using a sandblasting technique. This intricately precise blasting process involves a stream of fine mineral particles being directed at the wood veneers, delicately etching away microscopic layers of their surfaces to form the desired patterns. A three-dimensional effect is created by light and shadow interplaying across the sculpted surfaces, adding visual depth & interest to these finished interior elements.

A subtle three-colour interior palette complements the Blackwood veneers, with Fleet Blue hued main leather extended to the Rotary Controls, B and C pillars. This is complemented by Selby Grey and Black leathers contrasted with Fleet Blue seat piping, Selby Grey stitching and headrest monograms.

Bespoke Illuminated Treadplates featuring daisy motifs complete the interior refinements, along with daisy motifs gracing the inside of the Cullinan’s Bespoke umbrellas concealed within its rear Coach Doors. These whimsical patterns bring visions of daisy fields in full bloom on rainy days to mind, and can only be viewed inside the umbrellas. As an ideal finishing touch, the commissioning client’s favourite hiking equipment is housed within a bespoke Recreation Module storage compartment which deploys automatically from the luggage compartment floor.

Rolls-Royce’s acclaimed Bespoke Starlight Headliner also features in the Black Badge Cullinan Daisy, here representing four great constellations that dominate the northern latitudes’ heavenly night skies: Ursa Major, also known as the Great Bear, the Plough, and the Big Dipper; Ursa Minor that includes Polaris, the North Star; Gemini that is clearly distinguished by the bright Castor and Pollux stars; and Taurus ‘the Bull’, marked out by the red giant Aldebaran and Pleiades star cluster.
