Flying Spur Speed: an exalted sedan built for luxury and performance.

Bentley rolls out the Flying Spur Speed, the final version that will officially complete the Crewe-based auto manufacturer’s new product portfolio of Grand Tourers. The Speed variant will be one of the last models to feature the iconic W12 engine as the standard Flying Spur W12 has ceased production in May this year.

The Speed model pivots on a drive-centric design, configured with the driver’s experience at heart to bestow them with unmatched driving pleasure and performance. Under the hood, the luxurious, performance-focused sedan houses a 6.0-litre twin turbo W12 powertrain that produces 635 PS and 900 Nm of torque.

For better context, this is a step-up of 85 PS and 130 Nm of torque over the Flying Spur S, reaffirming its superior position in light of performance. The vehicle accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds (a 0.4 seconds improvement over its predecessor), and is capable of reaching a top speed of 333 km/h, matching performance of the Mulliner.

The Flying Spur Speed employs the same 8-speed ZF dual clutch transmission as the Continental GT for a smoother and more refined acceleration, quicker gearshifts and improved fuel consumption. Torque distribution has been significantly improved and managed across each axle by a torque-vectoring-by-brake system. Drivers can select either the Comfort or Bentley modes, or Sport mode to tailor their drive experience depending on road conditions.

In short, the Speed sedan inspires confidence through its handling ability and balanced dynamic precision with credits due to the advanced active All-Wheel Drive, Electric All-Wheel Steering and Bentley Dynamic Ride.

As with most of its models, Bentley boasts of the Speed’s extensive customizability, allowing drivers to tailor the styling of the vehicle to their liking. Visually, Bentley ensures that the Flying Spur Speed looks as stunning as it is to drive, prominently highlighting a unique dark tint finish on the front grilles, headlamps and taillamps, and its signature Speed badges on the lower wing to accentuate its sporty aesthetic.

The Unique 22″ Speed wheel is standard, with a second option of 22″ sportier wheel also available in Gloss Black or Pale Brodgar Satin for those who prefer a fiercer finish on the Speed. And in complementing the styling to performance, drivers can also opt for the Styling Specification or Blackline Specification.

Inside the capacious cabin, the Speed adopts a new unique colour that uses Dinamica Pure that flows seamlessly throughout, increasing its interior colour choice from 5 to 15 leather colours, with Piano Black veneer as standard, and Crown Cut Walnut, Dark Stainer Burr Walnut or Dark Fiddleback Eucalyptus as alternatives at no additional costs.

At the throne, the drivers information panel now features a performance infotainment graphics, with an interface inspired from luxury chronographs. Several drive assistive systems are also available to facilitate long drives, such as the Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Assist and even a night vision camera. Paired with sports pedals, Speed fascia badges and emblems, and illuminated Speed inner and outer treadplates, the design truly speaks for Bentley’s desire on creating a driver-focused experience.
