V8 Variant From Gaydon, UK Officially Arrives In Malaysia

We’ve already driven the dangerously sexy DB 11 in its V12 craziness (click here to read it) and we got the chance to have a private peak at the V8 sibling recently. But, before we bombard you with some juicy imagery, let’s get some of the formalities out of the way, shall we?

The 4.0-litre V8 under this sleek beauty’s hood has been tuned to churn out 510 hp with 675 Nm of torque. These figures have given the V8 DB11 a century sprint time of just 4 seconds flat, a whole 0.5 seconds slower than its bigger, V12 brother. How much bigger is the V12 you ask? Well, it’s a whole 115 kg heavier than this new V8 version. How else can you tell the two DB11s apart?

The most obvious is that this V8 engine that powers the DB11, is from Mercedes-AMG. Shocked? Don’t be, because it’s part of a collaboration between Aston Martin and Daimler AG, collaboration that spawned back in 2013. Like it’s V12 sibling, it also comes with Mercedes’ COMAND infotainment, which also explains some of the familiar design accents you might see when you head over to Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur to view this sportscar. In any case, while we work on rigging a test drive together with this new Aston Martin, please do enjoy our photos of this stunning sample of the V8 DB11.
