Fair warning: it is a hefty set. Honestly, the spread is rather large for just two people, but that only means you are thoroughly getting your money’s worth. The tower arrives packed with a beautiful balance of both savoury and sweet bites.
Interestingly, even the savoury selections feature a clever strawberry infusion. The standout was easily the prawn skewer paired with a vibrant strawberry salsa. It delivered a wonderfully unique flavour profile. That signature clean, fresh prawn taste matched perfectly with the sweet, tangy, and subtly spicy kick of the salsa. It did a fantastic job of cutting through the palate and balancing out the richer sweet treats.
Clouds of Cream and Classic Scones
On the sweet side, the strawberry vanilla monte choux stole the show. They were like tiny little pastry clouds filled with the most delicate, airy cream.
And of course, sitting happily on the side were the essentials: warm vanilla and strawberry scones topped with preserved strawberries and rich clotted cream. The clotted cream was a distinct personal favourite of ours — a flawless, classic pairing that simply never goes wrong. While these highlights deserve a special shoutout, best believe we happily devoured the entire spread.
