Breitling hosted an afternoon in celebration of the Formula 1 spirit, joined by Aston Martin and Glenfiddich, with the Bahrain Grand Prix at Sepang in Malaysia happening this weekend. Friends of the brands, partners and media gathered over a shared appreciation for watchmaking, motorsport and precision, and the conversation flowed easily between all three.
Breitling’s alliance with the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team took centre stage. It makes sense when you consider how much both depend on exact measurement and constant refinement. That partnership comes to life in a stunning timepiece, the Navitimer B01 Chronograph 43 Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team, which definitely stole the show.
Up close, the watch reads like a tribute to the cockpit. A lightweight titanium case keeps it comfortable on the wrist, while the carbon dial is dressed in deep racing green and lit with flashes of lime. Turn it over and a black PVD rotor spins above the Breitling Manufacture Calibre 01, a fitting engine for a watch of this temperament. A perforated strap, styled after racing gear, completes the look. Only 1,959 pieces exist, a number chosen to honour the year Aston Martin first lined up on a Formula 1 grid. The Navitimer itself has come a long way since its days as a pilot’s instrument, and it now sits comfortably in the pit lane.
The afternoon also carried a personal milestone. Breitling welcomed Weiron Tan as its newest Regional Friend of the Brand, a title held by those who reflect the house’s appetite for adventure and ambition. He stood alongside Jazeman Jaafar, the brand’s longtime Regional Friend of the Brand. Together they brought two Malaysian racing careers, each shaped on the international stage, to a room already humming with talk of lap times and lineage.
It was a stylish gathering where precision, speed and good company shared the same table.
