Stepping away from familiar interpretations, The Journey of Malaysian Cacao offers an exclusive, five-course pairing experience designed to shine a well-deserved spotlight on one of the nation’s finest homegrown ingredients.

While Malaysia has long been recognised for producing exceptional cacao, the deeper narrative of local cultivation often remains untold. Grown across the diverse landscapes of Sabah, Sarawak and Pahang, Malaysian cacao carries a unique sense of place and craftsmanship. This upcoming event brings these distinct origins into sharp focus, transforming the ingredient through contemporary pastry, thoughtfully curated wines and signature cocktails.

Guided by Executive Pastry Chef Holger Deh and the skilled culinary team at Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, the evening unfolds across five carefully paced stages: Aroma, Discovery, Terroir, Dialogue, and Signature. Each chapter of the menu reveals a different dimension of the cacao bean, inviting guests to experience an evolution of texture, scent and taste.

Rather than serving as mere accompaniments, the beverage pairings are woven directly into the narrative. From elegant sparkling wines and distinguished vintages to a bespoke cocktail crafted solely for the evening, each pairing creates a harmonious dialogue between the plate and the glass, completely transforming how cacao is perceived.
