Picture yourself standing on the edge of the Son Tra Peninsula this June, where the lush jungle meets the sea, and the air is filled with the scent of salt and something genuinely special. From 6 to 11 June 2026, InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort is opening its doors for Artisan Stories, a six-day festival that treats fine dining and fine art as two sides of the same coin.
It’s a full-on takeover of the Bill Bensley-designed retreat, bringing together some of the most creative minds in the world to see what happens when a kitchen becomes a studio and a dining room becomes a gallery.
The Art of Joie de Vivre
The centrepiece of the week unfolds at La Maison 1888. Imagine sitting down for a meal crafted by three-Michelin-starred Chef Christian Le Squer, while the man who designed the entire resort, Bill Bensley, walks through the room interpreting his own paintings.
On 10 and 11 June, these two “unmanageable artists” (as the chef fondly calls them) will host “The Art of Joie de Vivre.” It’s a rare, intimate chance to see how a chef uses colour like a painter and how a designer sees storytelling in a recipe. This residency is about the “joy of living” and the shared spark between two men from different cultures who speak the same language of creativity.
A Global Kitchen at Tingara
Over at Tingara, the resort’s modern Japanese destination, the vibe shifts toward high-energy collaboration. The “Culinary Constellations” dinners are essentially a “six-hands” jam session between world-class chefs.
Talent is flying in from Hong Kong, like Chef Loïc Portalier, to pair up with local Vietnamese heroes like Chef Cuong Nguyen and Chef Hoang Tung. Under the precise, theatrical guidance of Chef Junichi Yoshida, these evenings are designed to be both focused and lively, showcasing how seasonal ingredients can be transformed through different cultural lenses.
Sun-Drenched Celebration and Botanical Spirits
If a formal sit-down isn’t the desired mood, the festival kicks off with a massive beachfront party on Saturday, 6 June. Think live cooking stations, gourmet kiosks, and a bonfire right on the sand. The perfect way to lean into the summer spirit.
The discovery continues throughout the week:
L_o_n_g Bar: Guest mixologist Ohm Supapat from Bangkok’s F*nkytown will be taking over the bar for two nights, shaking up cocktails that put a spotlight on local Vietnamese herbs and botanicals.
Citron: For those who love a slow morning, the Sunday Festival Brunch offers a chance to soak in the views of the peninsula while sampling the best of the festival’s flavours.
A Moment for Danang
Beyond the menus, this festival marks a big moment for the region. As Seif Hamdy, the resort’s General Manager, explains, modern luxury is about feeling truly connected to a place. By bringing together international icons and local stars, Artisan Stories highlights the incredible energy of Danang’s evolving culinary scene.
Whether drawn by the stroke of a paintbrush or the perfect plating of a Michelin-starred dish, guests will find that this June offers a week of incredible food, better company, and a whole lot of heart. It is an invitation to see the world a little more colourfully.
