Versatility In Every Range Within Leonardo’s Stable Propels Leonardo Towards Greater Heights.

High performance, comfort and elegance, operational flexibility, high customisation level, safety and reliability, efficient support. These are just few amongst the many important requirements a modern helicopter must be able to meet when considering the ever increasing rigorous needs by private operators, businessmen, corporate leaders, public authorities searching for operational capabilities rather than mere aircraft. This is so that they can maximise their resources and better exploit the availability of TIME. Leonardo, as a leading company in developing, producing and marketing helicopters, is not only able to match such exigencies, as it can even exceed customers’ expectations thanks to an unequalled combination of Italian style and technological innovation, becoming the rotary wing benchmark in the VIP/Corporate sector worldwide. Heads of State and important businessmen fly aboard Leonardo helicopters, whose market share for turbine multi-engines has got close to a stunning 50% in the last few years.

Leonardo is able to offer an impressive and complete range of executive transport-dedicated helicopters, from the 1.8 ton single engine aircraft to the 16 ton class three-engine aircraft. The Company also provides its customers the choices within a number of solutions – with every single type provided with its own specific features. This extends to even the typical basic characteristics, highlighting the Leonardo brand’s exclusive quality. Products such as the GrandNew, the AW169, AW139 and AW189, characterised by their sleek fuselage stemming from cutting edge aerodynamic solutions, are capable of flying at around 300 km/h. These rotor-crafts are fitted with a cabin that ensures a high comfort level for 6 to 19 passengers, depending on the specific helicopter model. For the most exigent customers, the AW101 is a proven leader with its ability to carry more than 30 passengers in a 6.5 meter long cabin with a 1.83m ceiling.

This high personalisation level represents one of Leonardo’s VIP/Corporate product’s distinguished features. The Company offers a large variety of solutions with regards to the interior layout stylishness, one that is crafted with the usage of the most refined materials. In addition, one has to consider also the operational flexibility, which is focused on a modular principle – the cornerstone of passenger cabin functionality together with space availability. As an example, when taking the world’s best-in-class and best-selling AW139 medium twin helicopter into account, operators can customise the number of seats, the seat positions as well as where the seats faces – the interior positioning thus features maximum flexibility.

Leonardo AW139

On the AW139, a quick conversion from transport to mobile office/flying meeting room and back is possible thanks to the separation of the passenger cabin from the pilot’s cockpit by a “limousine window-like” system. The overall interior environment is further lavished with an air conditioning system together with state of the art Hi-Fi audio systems, a CD-DVD player, an iPod/MP3 player, a satellite phone, refrigerated cabinet and much more. The spacious baggage compartment, which can accommodate large luggage, is also internally accessible from the cabin on some models.

Leonardo produces helicopters which are able to fly in any environment, with emissions and noise level well under international rules limits. This is what makes them the ideal solution for flights involving city routes, thanks to such “environmentally friendly” appeal. The customer-oriented approach also involves the support factor. Leonardo’s customers have the upper hand of an efficient and complete support, which includes personnel training with the inclusion of simulators as well as maintenance. State-of-the-art technology, outstanding performance, low operating costs and the only helicopter in its class to meet the latest safety standards, are factors that have made the AW139 the helicopter of choice in the medium twin market.Over 1,100 AW139s have been sold in almost 70 countries for the many different missions, which include the VIP/Corporate transport segment.
