We had the absolute pleasure of escaping to DoubleTree by Hilton Resort Penang in Batu Ferringhi for a four-day, three-night getaway, and it felt like stepping right into a bright, tropical paradise. It was exactly the recharge we needed.
From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the grand, airy lobby. The warm welcome and seamless check-in set a joyful, carefree tone for the entire trip. Our room was a wonderfully expansive space soaked in natural sunlight, with full-length windows framing breathtaking, sparkling views that instantly made our hearts soar.
An Afternoon Tea Treat
After settling in, we treated ourselves to the afternoon tea set at Axis Lounge. At just RM 88 nett for two, this generous feast was a pure delight from start to finish. The tiered selection featured an indulgent mix of sweet and savoury creations, including rich chocolate fudge with dark ganache, velvety New York cheesecake, delicate macarons, and tender carrot cake alongside freshly baked raisin scones. On the savoury side, flaky smoked fish croissants, creamy open-faced mushroom sandwiches, chicken and cheese bites and crisp savoury puffs made every bite memorable.
Sun, Sand and Total Relaxation
Our retreat continued with a peaceful stroll across the resort’s dedicated bridge, leading us directly onto the soft, golden sands of Miami Beach. Clean, spacious and gentle, the beach offered a lovely spot to walk along the shore and dip our feet into the cool, refreshing water.
Back on the resort grounds, we checked out the expansive pool area. The main pool was perfect for refreshing, sun-soaked swims, while the kiddie pool brought pure joy to young adventurers with a playful mini water park theme.
For deep relaxation, we visited the on-site spa for pure tranquillity. Gentle, skilled hands performed a head, shoulder and neck massage that effortlessly melted away every lingering drop of stress, leaving us feeling delightfully light and renewed. To top off the soothing experience, we were served warm, aromatic tea alongside crisp, refreshing fruits that nourished us from the inside out.
Feasts and Whimsical Discoveries
Every morning and evening brought vibrant flavour celebrations at Makan Kitchen. Breakfast unfolded with an amazingly wide spread of morning favourites, while dinner featured a lavish buffet brimming with rich, authentic local dishes highlighting the finest culinary heritage of Penang.
All in all, our stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Resort Penang was unforgettable. The comfortable rooms, delicious food, and incredible resort amenities made it one of the most special beach escapes we’ve ever had.
