The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur has appointed Marco Erba as its new Executive Chef, marking a new chapter, a new journey. For a hotel like the St. Regis, bringing in someone with real pedigree just feels like the natural next step. And Chef Marco will certainly prove to be the perfect fit.
Chef Marco comes with 15 years of international experience under his belt, having worked across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia. All that time in different kitchens and cultures has given him a real feel for global cuisine — a mix of traditions, techniques, and ideas that he’s now bringing to The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur, adding even more weight to the hotel’s reputation as one of Malaysia’s top dining destinations.
Before this, he was Executive Chef at a well-known luxury hotel in Shanghai, running the show across its restaurants. Over the years, he’s opened multiple luxury hotel restaurants, built out menus for all kinds of dining concepts, and picked up the Chef of the Year title at the China Feast Restaurant Awards. He’s big on collaboration too. Chef Marco is a firm believer that great food starts with a strong, empowered team, careful craftsmanship, and genuine passion for hospitality.
At The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur, he’ll be overseeing the hotel’s full culinary lineup: The Brasserie, the hotel’s MICHELIN-Selected French restaurant; The Drawing Room, home to the much-loved St. Regis Afternoon Tea; Crystal, the go-to spot for events and celebrations; and the iconic Astor Bar, known for its signature cocktails and one-of-a-kind experiences. Together with his team, Chef Marco will keep raising the bar across each of these spaces, rolling out new dishes and experiences built around seasonality, craft, and a modern take on luxury.
