It is that time of year again when the air feels a little crisper with festive cheer (even in the heart of Kuala Lumpur!) and the spirit of giving takes centre stage. If you have been searching for a way to sprinkle some genuine enchantment for your family this Christmas, look no further. Back by popular demand, Renaissance Kuala Lumpur has officially reopened the gates to the truly whimsical Santa’s Magical Village.
But what exactly is this village, you might ask? It’s a Yuletide-themed dining experience that actually offers a whole lot more than just dining. Alongside their scrumptious festive buffet, there are also a bunch of full-blown immersive wonderland activities. All designed to keep the little ones (or the young at heart) utterly enthralled.
A Playground Designed for Little Explorers
In a brilliant collaboration with the esteemed event planners at La Memoria, the hotel has transformed its space into a festive dreamscape. For families with active children, this is quite literally the “Golden Ticket.” While you might usually worry about the kids getting restless at a formal dinner, here, they are encouraged to run, play, and explore every nook and cranny of the “magical village.”
This essence of magic comes alive through a trail of installations designed to spark joy at every turn. Little explorers can dash between a shimmering igloo castle and a delightful bouncy marshmallow castle, before diving into the ball pit of the bubble factory, or test their skills at the high-energy balloon burst and ball toss. For a more dizzying adventure, there’s a spinning cup where you can spin until you drop. Or, you can even get hands-on with the creative workshops — from making your own Christmas hats to creating mesmerising sand art.
Of course, the main highlight of it all would be the appearance of Father Christmas himself; Santa. Where children can greet him and even capture some festive portraits to take home as a memoir.
While the little ones are busy conquering the village, it’s the perfect cue for the grown-ups to tuck into the Christmas buffet. The spread is honestly lovely — with succulent roasted whole chicken and a tender, herb-marinated lamb leg that pairs perfectly with the festive atmosphere. And for the mini-foodies who might prefer something a bit more their size, the adorable mini chicken burgers are a total must-try! The dessert selection doesn’t lack behind, either. With assorted festive treats, a cool ice cream bar and even cotton candy. Do keep a sharp eye out for the miniature choo-choo train chugging its way around the sweets, too; it’s exactly these sorts of little details that make the entire experience feel so special.
