Pushing the standards of bespoke exclusivity ever higher, the new Mercedes-Maybach S 580 4MATIC Night Series will now also be locally available via Mercedes-Benz Malaysia. Each of its darkened motifs and masterfully crafted finishes further enhances the S-Class’ confidently refined, iconic presence while strengthening Maybach’s place at the peak of distinctive elegance; blending luxurious opulence with an intriguing degree of enigma.
A dedicated series of paint finishes visually set the Night Series apart, most notably the exclusive two-tone combinations including onyx black / Mojave silver and MANUFAKTUR opalite white bright with obsidian black. They are complimented by fine, jewel-like details that catch the light; including rose gold elements in the DIGITAL LIGHT headlights & dark metallic chrome accents which create subtly contrasting highlights. Meanwhile, dark chrome and black twin exhaust tailpipe trims balance out the high end S 580’s elongated silhouette.
On top of that, further dark shadow gloss exterior finishes further reinforce the Night Series’ unmistakable character, including the darkened front bumper covering, radiator shell, Mercedes star and chrome bonnet trim, door handles & longitudinal trim strips, and the C-pillar Maybach emblem. Equally blacked out rear finishes comprise the Mercedes star, “Maybach” lettering, model badge & boot lid trim; while the high-gloss black finished B-pillars, mirror housings, window surrounds, and beltline complete an overall aesthetic treatment that the Dark Knight himself would probably be proud of. That’s not all though: this stealthy treatment extends to the 20-inch Maybach 7-spoke light-alloy wheels in black & dark shadow gloss with integrated aerodynamic elements, while even the vehicle’s key comes finished in high-gloss black with a dark shadow gloss trim frame.
The Night Series’ sophisticated character also elevates its interior thanks to Black Pearl nappa leather upholstery, furthering a sense of refined craftsmanship by pairing the hide’s intricate mother-of-pearl effect with golden-grey glossy piping. Its centre console gets a subtly Maybach patterned, crystalline black finish; while dark brown open-pore walnut wood MANUFAKTUR trim featuring a distinctively herringboned pattern adds a naturally tactile, feelsome touch together with dark shadow gloss front and rear air vent housings. Yet even in the darkness, there is light: all that blackness is tastefully balanced out thanks to a “Garnet Glow” active ambient lighting colour scheme, providing an ambiance that is contemporary yet warm at once.
