Merdeka season is here, and EQ Kuala Lumpur is marking the occasion with a lineup that spans stays, dining and wellness, all built around the many faces of Malaysian culture. After all, what better way to celebrate Merdeka, Malaysia’s Independence Day, than through a tribute to the country’s own beautiful and vibrant culture.

A Place to Stay

For those looking to make a proper getaway of it, the Merdeka Stay and Dine 2026 package is open for booking until 1 September 2026, covering stays from 25 August to 6 September 2026. Guests who book the Best Available Rate, or the Best Available Rate with Breakfast, can look forward to a daily dining credit of RM150, a 15% discount at Sanctum Wellness, and late check-out, subject to availability.

A Taste of Merdeka

Come Merdeka, EQ’s restaurants and bars turn into a whole feast of Malaysian flavours, each one telling the story in its own distinct voice.

Nipah

Five Decades of Nipah Malaysian Flavours for Merdeka

This includes classics like Nasi Lemak with Sambal Udang Galah, Freshly Grilled Satay, and Ikan Patin Masak Tempoyak. To round it off, there are also traditional kuih and desserts that taste like childhood.
