Comfort, Style And Italian Seaworthiness

It’s been a great 50th birthday for Ferretti Yachts this year, and to continue the party festivities, the Italian marque is bringing its latest flybridge motoryacht to the upcoming Singapore Yacht Show 2018 (SYS 2018). We haven’t discovered its full details yet, but we’re looking forward to its Asian debut at SYS 2018 and will definitely try and tour the yacht if the chance prevails, when we’re at the yachting show.

Like many Ferretti’s that have come through in recent years, the FY 780 carries a lot of design inspirations from previous successful Ferrettis, such as the Ferretti Yachts 550, 700, 450 and 850. Most of the FY 780’s pizazz comes in the stern area, which has an area aft, which offers the comforts of a real beach club, thanks to a new tailgate operating system.

Above the large swimming platform, the two sections that form the tailgate can be lowered together or separately. These contain two large sun pads which, once the tailgate is fully opened, transform the space into a relaxing area close to the water. With this aim, Ferretti has designed ample storage spaces to store things like a seabob, ropes and other technical material.

The outdoor area located forward features a private lounge of considerable size, fitted with a C-shaped sofa and a vast central sun pad with lockers located beneath it. The large flybridge is furnished with free-standing to aft and amidships. Meanwhile, forward to starboard, the helm station is equipped with a small table and two facing sofas that can be converted into sun pads. .

Beyond the glass door of the cockpit, you enter the main deck lounge, located on a single level and fitted with Mardegan parquet flooring in brushed oak. It comes crafted with Minotti furnishings, marble and all. Beyond the living space is a dining area, with its large Poltrona Frau table and chairs that seat up to 8 guests. The forward section of the deck is reserved to a bar area with wood furniture and marble walls.

Below deck there are two cabins, each with an en-suite bathroom, the galley and the entertainment room. The bow cabin is a VIP, while a twin bed guest cabin is located at starboard. The bathrooms are both decorated in Florim Calcatta Gold marble. The entertainment room on the other hand enjoys magnificent natural light thanks to Ferretti’s iconic double-glazed windows with integrated flush portholes. It is furnished with a sofa with pull-out bed in genuine leather by Mastrotto and in fabrics by Camengo on the backseats.

Giving this Ferrett Yachts 780 it’s cruising ability is optional engine assembly consisting of twin MAN engines, ensuring the yacht a cruising speed of 27 knots and a top speed of 31 knots (preliminary data). That’s an impressive water speed considering the amount of luxury that can be found on this Ferretti FY780. We hope to learn more of this vessel come SYS2018, but for now, these interior pictures should provide a little taste of what the actual Tai He Ban version of the FY780 will look like in Singapore.
