In simpler words, the Rado Centrix Moonphase Limited Edition is basically a timepiece with a story. Or more accurately, multiple stories. Of legends and myths, of adventure and wonder.

The watch is actually inspired by the legendary Middle Eastern folktales of One Thousand and One Nights. As such, it feels only fitting that the timepiece is limited to exactly 1,001 pieces.

Rado Centrix Moonphase Limited Edition

Imagine standing under a vast desert sky where the moonlight is so bright it practically glows against the darkness. This watch captures that exact bit of magic, the kind of atmosphere you’d find in stories of flying carpets and mythical quests, and puts it right on your wrist.

In ancient tales, the changing phases of the moon weren’t just for show. Rather, they marked the rhythm of time as one story led into the next. Rado has leaned into that romantic imagery with a bold, black and silver aesthetic. The dial isn’t just a flat surface; it has a stardust-like shimmer, accented by the sparkle of diamonds and a moonphase complication that feels like a tiny window into the universe.

Rather than just being another accessory, it feels more like a small reminder to pause and dream. It’s designed to be a bit of a “portal,” encouraging you to look down and think about the next chapter of your own story.

A Galaxy Neatly Contained

The dial itself feels like a tiny, high-end map of the cosmos. A curving band of 29 Top Wesselton diamonds sweeps across the face to represent the earth’s horizon, a detail confirmed by the “Jubilé” engraving tucked under the logo. The earth is rendered in a deep black mother-of-pearl, which adds a natural, organic texture that frames the date window at 6 o’clock.

The backdrop is where things get really dreamy. Rado has used aventurine finished with a diamond-powder effect, making the dial look like a million tiny stars scattered across a dark galaxy.

Just above that horizon sits the moonphase display. Interestingly, this is the first time Rado has ever included this complication in a Centrix model. The moon itself is finished in rhodium to match the hands, drifting through its lunar cycle just as it did during the Islamic Golden Age, a period when astronomy and storytelling were deeply intertwined, and the very era when the tales of One Thousand and One Nights were first brought to life.

High-Tech Polish Meets Infinite Vastness

Even the glass on it has a bit of a story. The curved sapphire crystal features a black metallic border, designed to give the impression of the infinite universe neatly tucked into a polished stainless steel case. This sleek, monochrome look carries over to the bracelet, which mixes cool stainless steel with Rado’s signature black high-tech ceramic middle links.

the Rado Centrix Moonphase Limited Edition is a sight to behold

Flip the watch over, and the starry theme continues. The case back is laser-engraved with a cascade of stars and the inscription: “LIMITED EDITION, ONE NIGHT OUT OF 1001.” Inside, a Rado calibre R084 quartz movement keeps things ticking with effortless accuracy, so you don’t have to worry about the technical side of things while you’re daydreaming.

It even comes in a special display box with a limited-edition certificate. A nice touch for a piece that’s essentially an invitation to reach for the stars and embrace a little fantasy in the everyday.

Beyond the 1,001: The Sibling Collection

Alongside the star of the show, Rado has also released three sibling models in alternative colourways. Available in brown, black, and white, these versions continue the harmonious theme of the earth and moon sitting gracefully above the horizon.

Instead of the stardust finish, these pieces feature delicate mother-of-pearl dials that evoke a soft, cloud-filled sky. It’s a slightly different take on that same ethereal elegance, offering a touch of finesse for those who might prefer a different palette. Best of all, while the main event is restricted to 1,001 pieces, these three models aren’t limited — meaning there is plenty of room for everyone to find their own piece of the starry skies.
