If there’s one place that really knows how to serve up a spectacular Ramadan buffet, it’s The Mesh at Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur City Centre.

Why? Well, we at The Grid Asia recently had the lovely opportunity to sample a preview of their upcoming Ramadan spread, and consider this your gentle nudge (or a full-on shove) to get those Iftar reservations sorted immediately.

A Lively Iftar Affair at The Mesh

If we had to use just one word to describe the Tradisi Kampung Baru Ramadhan Buffet at The Mesh, it would be lively. And lively it is! The space is filled with nostalgic live music, food stations decorated like traditional stalls — perfectly reminiscent of local Ramadan bazaars — and the air is brimming with that comforting Ramadan atmosphere of togetherness. It’s truly an ideal setting for one to break their fast at.

The spread offers a wide selection of over 60 ethnic dishes featuring that classic taste of Malaysian cuisine. The definite highlights for us included the Rendang Tok Perak, Kuzi Rusuk Sapi Timur Tengah, and a rich Curry Laksa. Interestingly, they’ve also included a particularly special dish that we personally haven’t seen much in buffets: Ayam Gepuk. While it originates from Indonesia, it has essentially become a staple in the modern Malaysian diet, making it a very welcome addition to the line-up.

Of course, you’ll want to save room for the variety of kuih and desserts to end the meal on a sweet note. Whatever you do, don’t forget to grab The Mesh’s signature dessert, the Ipoh White Coffee Crème Brûlée. We found it to be the perfect balance of bitter coffee (in the best way possible), creamy texture, and just the slightest hint of sweet.
