Just in time for International Women’s Day, Bentley has unveiled a specially designed Continental GTC that is quite literally a symphony on wheels. This bespoke creation is the work of three extraordinary women who have spent their careers breaking boundaries in the music industry, and one look at the car is enough to feel that creative energy wafting through the design.
It is a beautiful reflection of their individual flairs, perfectly capturing the rhythm and soul of their musical journeys. So, who are the maestros behind this one-of-a-kind ride? Meet Anna Lapwood, Tina Guo, and Sister Bliss. Three icons in the world of music who have come together to bring this Bentley to life.
The Architects of Sound
To understand the car, you have to first understand the women behind the wheel. First, there is Anna Lapwood, a trailblazing force in classical music who has spent her career shattering centuries-old gender barriers. As the first female organ scholar in Magdalen College Oxford’s 560-year history, she has turned the hashtag #playlikeagirl into a movement of empowerment, proving that virtuosity knows no gender while redefining the organ for a modern, inclusive audience.
Then there is Tina Guo, a Grammy-nominated cellist who has showcased the sheer power of her instrument across Hollywood’s biggest stages. If you’ve ever watched Dune or Top Gun: Maverick, then you have definitely heard her work in the scores. Most notably, she co-composed the iconic Wonder Woman theme with Hans Zimmer, a track that has since become a global anthem for feminine strength.
Completing the trio is Sister Bliss, a founding member and the musical architect of the legendary electronic act Faithless. As a true pioneer who cleared the path for generations of female DJs, she moved from the underground club scene to headlining Glastonbury and selling over 20 million records. By crafting the melodies behind era-defining tracks like Insomnia, she solidifies that a woman’s vision could very well define the sound of global dance culture.
A Design That Hits All the Right Notes
Bentley’s Mulliner design team played a crucial role in bringing this vision to life, with two leading female design consultants at the forefront of the project. These industry-leading experts ensured every detail of the Continental GTC reflected the essence of the musicians’ artistry.
Visually, the ‘Extraordinary Women’ car is already a showstopper in itself. The exterior is finished in a striking Peacock Satin, contrasted by bold Tornado Red accents and a Dark Grey Metallic roof. It’s a colour palette that feels both sophisticated and rebellious, creating a visual bridge between luxury automotive design and the world of high-performance music.
However, the real magic is found in the interior, where each musician contributed a signature element that reflects her specific career path. Tina Guo selected a rare Copper Stone veneer for the fascia. At just 0.6 mm thick, the natural stone reflects her recent exploration of tribal music and ancient aesthetics, bringing an earthy, grounded feel to the high-tech cabin.
Sister Bliss introduced a first-of-its-kind soundwave embroidery across the seats, doors, and treadplates. The intricate pattern mimics the digital waveforms of her most iconic electronic tracks and is even projected onto the ground via the welcome lights when you open the door.
And perhaps the most poetic touch comes from Anna Lapwood. Inspired by the cabin’s air vent controls (which are traditionally called “Organ Stops” due to their mechanical similarity to her instrument) she specified that these be finished in 24K gold. Such detail has the power to turn a standard functional piece into a jewel-like centrepiece.
The Final Encore
The tribute is completed by a stainless steel plaque on the centre console, featuring the engraved signatures of all three women alongside a custom Spotify code. When scanned, it launches a curated playlist specifically designed to be experienced through the car’s gold-anodised Bang & Olufsen sound system.
The car is a stunning example of what happens when female creativity is given the keys to the kingdom. This International Women’s Day, this month, we celebrate exactly this: women breaking barriers, showcasing their incredible artistry, and making their mark all around the world.
