In the world of luxury, some collaborations feel more like a meeting of minds than a simple partnership. When two titans of their respective industries come together, the result is rarely just a product — it’s a masterpiece. This is exactly the case with the exquisite, limited-edition timepiece born from the shared values of Girard-Perregaux, the revered Swiss luxury watchmaker, and Aston Martin, the legendary British sports car manufacturer.

This stunning creation, the Laureato Skeleton Aston Martin Edition, highlights the two brands’ perfect craftsmanship and high-performance engineering. More than just a watch, it is more akin to a work of art that meticulously blends the signature design elements of both brands — making it a highly coveted piece for enthusiasts and collectors alike.

The Look

The first thing that catches the eye is, of course, the watch’s appearance. In this case, it is the watch’s case, which is crafted from sleek, black ceramic. The material used is seven times harder than steel, making it incredibly durable and resistant to scratches. But despite its toughness, it remains remarkably lightweight and is even hypoallergenic. This case features the iconic octagonal bezel and integrated bracelet that made the original 1975 Laureato a classic, but with a modern twist. The ceramic boasts a sophisticated blend of polished and satin finishes, giving it a dynamic texture that catches the light beautifully.

To truly honour the Aston Martin heritage, the skeletonised hands and suspended indexes are coated in a vibrant green finish. This shade, a nod to the iconic Aston Martin Racing Green, doesn’t just look spectacular; it also glows in low-light conditions, adding a subtle yet powerful touch of exclusivity. A small, discreet skeletonised seconds hand is positioned at 10 o’clock, adding more attention to detail. The entire design radiates elegance and sportiness, flawlessly reflecting the unique design codes of both brands.

The Heart of the Laureato Skeleton Aston Martin Edition

While the exterior is a marvel in itself, the true magic lies within. The Laureato Skeleton Aston Martin Edition is powered by the openworked GP01800 calibre, a work of art in its own right. Through the sapphire crystal on both the front and back, you get an unobstructed view of its intricate inner workings, a sight that pays homage to over 230 years of watchmaking expertise — and an undeniably extravagant sight to see.

The movement features a black PVD-treated mainplate and bridges, adorned with an impressive 55 hand-crafted internal angles. The craftsmanship is further highlighted by four meticulous finishing techniques: bevelling, sandblasting, traits-tirés, and circular satin. Even the solid gold rotor, visible through the caseback, is skeletonised and finished in that signature Aston Martin Racing Green-inspired shade. The caseback is also adorned with a metallised Aston Martin logo, a final touch that seals the partnership in a grand way.
