Every time Lunar New Year comes along, we keep our eyes on the lookout for more interesting Lunar New Year-themed products. And this time, it is from the renowned Swiss luxury watch manufacturer Jaeger-LeCoultre.
Though this Lunar New Year special is not new to the brand, Jaeger-LeCoultre highlights a pre-existing collection – featuring the Enamel ‘Tiger’ and Enamel ‘Dragon’, each symbolising the zodiac animal from previous years. For the 2025 Year of the Snake, the brand presents Reverse Tribute Enamel ‘Snake’.
A Lunar New Year Work of Art
This exquisite limited-edition timepiece is truly a sight to behold – a testament to Jaeger-LeCoultre’s exceptional craftsmanship and horological artistry. The brand’s Reverso series is unique in that the watches have reversible cases. With a simple flip, wearers of the watch can switch from the dial, into a decorative plane of art. For the Enamel ‘Snake’ in particular, the reverse side of the case reveals a mesmerising image – a snake bursting from a wreath of golden clouds, beautifully etched against a deep black Grand Feu enamel background. This glorious artwork is the result of 80 hours of hand-engraving – reflecting the dedication and talent of the team in the Métiers Rares™ atelier of the Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre.
The Reverso Enamel ‘Snake’ timepiece exudes understated elegance, fitting for the Lunar New Year. Crafted in lustrous pink gold, it is perfectly complemented by a refined black alligator strap. The strap echoes the deep, rich black of the Grand Feu enamel dial, creating a harmonious and sophisticated aesthetic. This meticulous enameling technique, also employed on the caseback, showcases Jaeger-LeCoultre’s mastery of artisanal craftsmanship. The glossy shine of the enamel adds a touch of refinement, elevating the watch to a true objet d’art.
Powering this delicate work of art is the calibre 822, a remarkable rectangular movement that showcases Jaeger-LeCoultre’s innovative spirit. This in-house creation, designed to seamlessly fit the iconic rectangular Reverso case, embodies the brand’s dedication to pushing the boundaries of watchmaking.
