We at The Grid Asia had the absolute pleasure to spend 2 days at Hyatt Centric City Centre Kuala Lumpur, and it was exactly the recharge we needed. This is a five-star place that feels connected to everything that makes KL so cool.

Lobby of Hyatt Centric City Kuala Lumpur

From the moment we walked in, we were blown away. The design is incredible – it’s got this great, modern vibe with vibrant graffiti, but it also pays tribute to the city’s history with subtle nods to its old tin-mining past. It’s the perfect mix of old and new, and it just works.

King room at Hyatt Centric City Centre Kuala Lumpur

Our room was on a high floor with a balcony, giving us a killer view of the city. We had a King Bed, and the room was so cosy and well-designed that it felt like a little city apartment just for us. It had everything we could possibly need, and we were so ready to just relax and unwind.

Hyatt Centric City Centre Kuala Lumpur’s Italian Feast and Rooftop Vibe

Our first night was all about the food. We hit up the hotel’s Italian restaurant, Il Forno, and Chef Vincenzo Carbone is a genius. Looking at the menu was tough because we wanted to try everything!

We started with the Tagliere Misto di Antipasto e Formaggi, a massive platter with everything from a creamy Burrata Salad to delicious Beef Bresaola. We also got a classic Margherita pizza – because you can’t not – and it was perfect. For our main courses, we went with the Gnocchi and the Trofie Pesto. Each bite was pure bliss. And for dessert? The tiramisù. I’m not even kidding, we are still dreaming about how light and creamy it was.

After stuffing our faces, we went up to the @21 Rooftop Bar on the 21st floor. The city lights sparkled all around us, and it was such a breathtaking view. We ordered two drinks: an alcoholic Vibe Check (which came with a cute little rubber ducky!) and a non-alcoholic Butterfly Hanna that was this beautiful, glittery purple colour. The drinks were just as impressive as the view.

The Perfect End to a Perfect Trip

The next morning, we went back to Il Forno for breakfast, and they had everything you could imagine. There was a huge spread of local and continental food, and we definitely didn’t hold back. We ate so much we were ready to roll right out of the hotel.

Tanburi Tikka Chicken Biryani

Before heading home, we grabbed lunch at TanBuri, a North Indian restaurant located at the hotel’s lobby. We tried their Tanburi Tikka Chicken Biryani, and it was the perfect end to our staycation – flavourful rice and juicy chicken cooked over a charcoal flame.

All in all, our whole weekend at Hyatt Centric City Centre Kuala Lumpur was unforgettable. The comfortable rooms, the delicious food and the amazing views made it one of the most special staycations we’ve ever had.
