The Singleton Gourmand Collection is a masterful trilogy of 42-year-old whiskies, a true testament to the art of maturation and a delicious homage to the world of patisserie. Malt Master Dr. Craig Wilson has pushed the boundaries of flavour, crafting each single malt to evoke the sumptuousness of your favourite desserts.

Notes of Fig & Chocolate Ganache: A Decadent Delight

Singleton Gourmand Collection with notes of fig & chocolate ganache

This whisky is a lavishly rich and deeply decadent experience. Secondary maturation in New & Bodega-treated European casks lays a foundation of warmth, developing notes of cloves, spice, vanilla and a subtle woodiness. But the magic truly happens during its final marriage in a heavily toasted Priorate wine cask, which layers the spirit with fresh spices and a burst of juicy berries.

On the nose, it’s a seductive mix of dark chocolate and candied violets, with deeper aromas of dried figs and roasted nuts emerging over time. The first sip is a journey of textures – creamy and smooth – unfolding from a sweet, winey start into a light tartness and a spicy, peppery finish. Imagine a rich fig pudding and melting chocolate ganache, all wrapped in a beautifully peppery embrace. The conclusion is long and warming, leaving a distinct dark chocolate aftertaste that lingers on the tongue.

Notes of Caramelised Crème Brûlée: A Torched Masterpiece

For those who crave a classic, comforting dessert, this whisky is the perfect match. A silken spirit that tastes of baked vanilla custard torched to perfection, it’s a brilliant showcase of cask layering. New European Oak casks lend their creamy richness, while two American casks infuse the whisky with the classic notes of woody spice and vanilla. The finishing touch in ex-Grand Cru casks adds a final layer of creamy smoothness and a whisper of ripe fruit.

The nose is incredibly mellow and inviting, promising sweet indulgence. The initial scent of light, summery coconut gives way to rich notes of prune juice, dark molasses and toffee sweetness. On the palate, the creamy-smooth texture is immediate, with a taste that begins sweet before a pleasant bitterness.

The Notes of Black Cherry Gâteau: A Berry-Rich Indulgence

Singleton Gourmand Collection with hints of black cherry

This is a multi-layered and intricate whisky, an ode to the classic Black Forest cake. The journey begins with two American Oak casks, which impart beautiful notes of vanilla, chocolate and rich berries. A third European Oak cask further enhances these layers, and the final touch – a finish in an ex-Amarone cask – seals the deal, adding a powerful punch of dark fruits and black pepper.

The nose is a bit elusive at first, revealing faint hints of dry chocolate sponge and desiccated coconut, followed by tantalising suggestions of homemade black cherry jam. As you taste it, the creamy-smooth texture immediately greets you, followed by flavours of juicy blackberries and ripe plums or black cherries in syrup. The fruitiness is beautifully balanced by a whisper of cinnamon, nutmeg and a crisp, bold black pepper. The finish is quite long and elegantly dry, with that signature pinch of pepper and a final, lingering trace of milk chocolate.

The Singleton Gourmand Collection is more than just a set of whiskies – it’s an epicurean adventure. Each bottle is a tribute to dessert, inviting you to explore the decadent intersection of master distillation and sweet artistry.
