Marking the 10th anniversary of its now globally renowned Polo Storico classic department, Lamborghini is debuting a short film series exploring the heritage division’s key foundational elements; these being the Historical Archive, the Committee of Experts, Restoration, and finally the Certification of Authenticity. As one of the most important expressions of Sant’Agata Bolognese’s classic preservation efforts, each restoration is treated with the utmost regard for originality, craftsmanship, and official certification. The original condition of each car is fully retained in view of its authentic specifications, thanks to the marque’s historical archive & its master craftsmen’s uniquely skilled expertise. For these are not just simply old cars: performing such work on any historic Lamborghini involves bringing that certain iconic shape, symphony of sounds, and heritage of irreplaceable emotions back to vibrant new life. More than anything else, every project is an act of passion for that which truly endures, because a factory restored Lamborghini is truly reborn; rather than simply returning to its origins.
Alessandro Farmeschi, Automobili Lamborghini’s After Sales Director & the voice narrating these short films shared, “At Polo Storico, a car is not just a vehicle. It is a milestone, an indelible memory, an emotion that deserves to relive in its fullest splendor. Here, every intervention is approached with the same rigor as when a new Lamborghini is created.”
Indeed not a single decision or result is left to chance for a Polo Storico restored Lamborghini. Every minute detail and specific element, from its paint colour to the fabric textures of its interior, right down to the tactile sensation that its steering wheel imparts, is meticulously studied to ensure the authentic restoration of its genuine identity. There comes a union of new technologies with traditional craftsmanship, even as these master artisans’ skills combine with archival resources & digital tools to remanufacture components long out of production while adhering meticulously to original specifications. Every Lamborghini’s restoration is as unique as the individual who first specified its inception, yet the shared values of reverential respect for originality, uncompromised attention to detail, and heartfelt passion truly make all of them journeys of preserving each model’s intangible memories and emotions anew for their present & even future custodians.
The anniversary celebrations will continue on throughout the year with dedicated Polo Storico spaces at upcoming Lamborghini Day events in the UK and Japan, where devoted Lamborghini clients & collectors can gain further insights while fostering a closer relationship with the heritage department. Festivities will culminate at the Auto e Moto d’Epoca, scheduled to take place in Italy’s Bologna itself on the 23rd to 26th of October.
