Kuala Lumpur’s culinary scene is set to sizzle as Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur announces a spectacular collaboration with Err by Bo.lan, the celebrated Thai concept from Bangkok. From September 2 to November 30, Level 2 of the hotel will be transformed into a vibrant hub of Thai culture and cuisine, led by none other than Michelin-starred chefs Bo Songvisava and Dylan Jones.
Chefs Bo and Dylan, founders of the renowned one-Michelin-starred Bo.lan, are famous for their unwavering commitment to sustainability and a deep respect for traditional Thai culinary wisdom. Err, their more casual concept takes the soul of Thai street food and elevates it with premium ingredients and a rustic, honest flair. This takeover will showcase their passion, offering a menu that’s both a nod to familiar favourites and an exploration of innovative creations, all served in a lush, unique urban setting.
More Than Just a Meal: An Immersive Thai Experience
Err by Bo.lan promises to be a multi-sensory journey across the “Land of Smiles.” Guests can indulge in a diverse menu with à la carte dishes starting from an affordable MYR 28, including a variety of delicious vegetarian options. For those who want to experience the full range of flavours, the lunch-only sharing option is a steal at MYR 130 nett, allowing two people to choose five dishes from the extensive menu.
Err by Bo.lan’s curated menu features a variety of dishes across several categories. Highlights include Small Plates like Met Tang Mor, a salad with toasted watermelon seeds and a Thai-style rice ball dish called Khao Tort Pla Insri Kem. For refreshing dishes, you can try Tum Khao Poat, a corn salad from Cameron Highlands. Soups include the spiced Dtom Kamin Gai Baan and Dtom Yum Budu with braised beef cheeks. From the Charcoal Grill, there’s Larb Gai Tsukune, a grilled chicken dish, and Pla Kao Mak, a Spanish mackerel dish. The Crunchy & Crispy section offers Meuk Tort Kamin (turmeric fried squid) and Bik Gai Hat Yai (tea-brined chicken wings). Main courses from the Wok Wok include Pad Grapaow Nuea (stir-fried beef) and Pla Tort Saam Rot (deep-fried grouper). Curries feature a classic Geng Kiow Waan Gai (green curry), while the Braised section has Ma Keua (braised aubergine). To complete your meal, there are classic Rice & Noodles and Desserts like Kanom Tuay (coconut pudding).
Beyond the food, the ambience will be brought to life with live cultural elements, transporting diners directly to the bustling streets of Bangkok. To complement the bold flavours, the Grand Hyatt has crafted a list of exclusive Thai-inspired cocktails and mocktails. Adding a local touch, the event is collaborating with two celebrated Malaysian brands: WonderBrew is creating exclusive kombucha flavours just for the occasion, and PaperKite, Malaysia’s first Gold Award-winning craft beer, will also be featured.
Meet the Culinary Visionaries

The magic behind Err by Bo.lan lies in the partnership of its two remarkable chefs. Chef Duangporn “Bo” Songvisava’s journey is one of passion and purpose. After completing her Master’s in Gastronomy, she honed her skills in top kitchens in Bangkok and London. It was in London where she met Dylan Jones, and the two decided to embark on a shared mission to open an authentic Thai restaurant in her home country. Bo has been a passionate advocate for Thai culinary wisdom and food security, sharing her knowledge through teaching and her popular television show.
Chef Dylan Jones, originally from Australia, developed a deep love for Asian flavours and extensively travelled through Thailand before working in London. His time at the renowned Nahm restaurant cemented his passion for the cuisine, and he, too, decided to move to Bangkok to open Bo.lan. Fully immersed in his adopted home, Dylan’s understanding of Thai food and heritage has only deepened, and together with Bo, they have cultivated an incredible knowledge base. Their dishes are inspired by a rare collection of antique Thai recipes and their continuous travels and collaborations with local farmers and artisans.
Err by Bo.lan is a perfect example of their dedication, offering Kuala Lumpur a rare opportunity to experience an elevated and authentic slice of Thai culinary heritage. Don’t miss the chance to savour the explosive flavours and inspiring stories of Err by Bo.lan at the Grand Hyatt.
