In the heart of Kuala Lumpur, where the skyline glitter meets the quiet pulse of tradition, EQ is preparing to reshape the Ramadan experience. For 2026, the hotel is hosting a month-long celebration of “Tradition and Togetherness.”
Under the new leadership of General Manager Justin Lee, EQ is leaning into the idea that food is the ultimate bridge between generations. This year, the hotel offers two polar-opposite experiences: one a soulful tribute to the past, and the other a vibrant nod to Malaysia’s hawker-stall concept.
The Soul of Tradition: Citarasa Nipah
If your ideal Iftar involves white tablecloths and the deep, complex flavours of a grandmother’s kitchen, Citarasa Nipah is your destination. Running from 19 February to 20 March, this heritage-inspired buffet is an encyclopedic journey through Malaysian cuisine.
The stars of the show are undoubtedly the “Salai” (smoked) specialities. Think Daging Salai Masak Lemak that carries the perfect hint of woodsmoke. For the meat lover, the Grilled Beef Tomahawk and the spice-infused Kambing Golek offer a theatrical feast, while the Briyani Gam Johor provides a fragrant, local anchor to the meal. It is a curated, elegant affair designed for those who want to break fast with grace and abundance.
EQ Bazaar & The Garden
For those who crave the sights, sounds and social buzz of a night market, the EQ Bazaar on Level 3 is back with a twist. This year introduces The Garden, an alfresco element that elevates the “hawker-stall” concept into something much more sophisticated.
Imagine wandering through twelve live stations, the air filled with the scent of Shawarma and sizzling Ikan Pari Bakar. With a live band providing the evening’s soundtrack and ten different types of air balang (traditional chilled drinks) to choose from, it’s a high-energy, contemporary celebration. It’s the perfect spot for the “social” breaking fast, where the atmosphere is as much a draw as the Roti John and Apam Balik.
The Gift of Togetherness
EQ’s hospitality extends beyond the dining room. This year’s gifting collection features the Sulaman Kasih signature praline. A luxury take on festive sweets. With hampers ranging from RM98+ to RM458+, the retail selection at the hotel lobby (available starting 19 February) makes corporate and personal gifting effortless.
For those who prefer to host at home, the EQ Beyond outside catering service ensures that the hotel’s five-star culinary standards can be brought directly to your doorstep.
