Who doesn’t love fruits? They’re nature’s very own candies — bursting with natural sweetness, a juicy delight with every bite. And among the many, one fruit stands out as a true golden favourite: the mango. Its perfectly ripe flesh, a brilliant balance of sweet and tangy, has captured hearts and palates across the globe (and for good reason).

While mangoes are enjoyed everywhere, one city is particularly famous for its irresistibly juicy harvest: Cam Ranh in Vietnam. The mangoes here are so revered that “mango tourism” is a genuine thing. Here, mangoes are turned into a whole experience, from tours of lush mango farms to indulging in every mango-infused treat imaginable. So, it isn’t out of the question for a mango enthusiast to travel all the way to Vietnam just for its mangoes.

And in this very city, one resort in particular is celebrating this golden fruit in all its glory. The Anam Cam Ranh Resort has introduced the “Afternoon Tea Mango Symphony” at its charming Colonial Restaurant. With its elegant open kitchen, a grand piano providing a gentle melody, and a courtyard shaded by a canopy of mature gardens, the atmosphere is perfectly harmonious — a stage perfectly set for a mango-tasting extravaganza.

This afternoon tea is every mango lover’s dream, a menu crafted to showcase the fruit’s versatility. The star of the show is undoubtedly the scrumptious mango scones, served warm with homemade mango jam and a generous dollop of clotted cream. And of course, no mango celebration is complete without an array of delectable mango-infused sweets. The menu features an inventive lineup of creations, including macarons with mango cream cheese, creamy mango sago pudding, a light and airy pavlova with fresh diced mango, and a delicate mango, lemon, and almond tart. For a unique twist, you can also savour the fragrant mango jelly with pandan leaves.

But that’s not all — because mangoes aren’t just for desserts. The Afternoon Tea Mango Symphony proves that this sweet fruit is a delightful partner for savoury dishes, too. The menu highlights this perfect pairing with poached tiger prawns with mango salsa, delicate slices of Iberico Bellota with charred mango, and salmon croquettes served with a zesty mango chutney.

To complement these delightful bites, a refined selection of Dammann teas is on offer, including classic Earl Grey and English Breakfast, alongside refreshing jasmine, peppermint, and chamomile tea. For a truly local touch, you can also enjoy their local green tea.

In Vietnam, mangoes symbolise fertility, a promising future and prosperity, and the quality of the variety of mangoes grown in our province Khanh Hoa can’t be beat. Khanh Hoa’s fertile soil and warm and tropical weather, affording abundant sunshine and the right amount of rainfall, result in the region’s famous juicy mangoes that are reimagined in our imaginative mango-themed afternoon tea.

Laurent Myter, The Anam Group's general manager.

The Afternoon Tea Mango Symphony is priced at 460,000 VND nett for two people.
