One of Italy’s most fascinatingly storied supercar makers, Lamborghini has certainly been through an incredible renaissance over the past 2 decades. A major driver of this success was the introduction of its ‘junior’ supercar range running alongside the iconic V12 flagships, starting off with the Gallardo in 2003 before evolving into 2014’s Huracan. Boasting impressively diverse model variants from convertible Spyders to hardcore lightweight road racers, and even limited edition specials inspired by motorsports, these Lamborghinis have introduced new owners to the marque while adding immeasurably to its cachet, desirability, and sales success of course. Indeed this was most richly reflected in the scale of privately owned V10 models which turned up for the evening’s customer Temerario launch session, with even a pair of first generation Gallardo Superleggeras in the mix.

As Lamborghini’s newest hybrid supercar, the Temerario rounds out the brand’s full model line-up hybridization, following in the tyre tracks of the Revuelto & Urus SE High Performance Electrified Vehicles (HPEVs). In place of its predecessors’ much loved V10 engines, an all-new twin turbocharged V8 hybrid powerplant beats strongly at its heart, developed and engineered entirely at Sant’Agata Bolognese.

Designated L411, the bi-turbo V8 produces an impressive 800 CV peaking at 9,000 to 9,750 RPM, along with 730 Nm of maximum torque at 4,000 to 7,000 RPM. It’s joined by three electric motors to deliver a combined 920 CV output, a number which would put it almost on par with hypercars just one or two generations ago. One oil-cooled axial flow motor integrated between the V8 engine and 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox sharpens throttle response throughout the entire powerband, from low revs right up to a howling 10,000 RPM. Performance is thus equally explosive & exciting, with rest to 100 km/h done in only 2.7 seconds and an all-out 343 km/h maximum speed.

Over half a decade’s development work was poured into this powertrain, in order to reach the highest possible power & torque outputs in class, while maintaining the classic high-revving naturally aspirated engine response characteristics expected by the most committed Lamborghini drivers. Francesco Scardaoni, Region Director of Automobili Lamborghini Asia Pacific said, “We are thrilled to debut the Temerario here in Malaysia. Setting a new standard in the super sports car segment, the Temerario delivers outstanding performance and advanced hybrid innovation. Driven by an all-new twin turbo V8 hybrid powertrain, it delivers the highest level of performance and comfort for a peerless driving experience rooted in Italian automotive excellence from Sant’Agata Bolognese. As a true Fuoriclasse, it empowers drivers of all skills level to fully engage with its precision handling and emotional appeal.”

In design terms, Lamborghini Centro Stile has imbued the Temerario with its own distinctly iconic identity, with well-defined and purely athletic visual proportions. The marque’s trademark visual DNA is most apparent in its sharply drawn lines, short overhangs, and a bold shark nose with signature hexagonal Daytime Running Lights (DRLs). With the hexagonal geometric form having been 1 of Lamborghini’s most recognizable style elements since the 1960s, this shape also visually defines the Temerario’s side air intakes, taillights and imposing central exhaust pipe.

Importantly for a mid-engined supercar, it is particularly striking from the lateral and rear quarters, with voluptuously toned haunches visually planting it closer to the road while hinting at the awesome power contained within. Those hexagonal radiator intakes aesthetically reference both the Temerario’s Revuelto big brother & stealthy fighter aircraft, while a partially hidden shoulder intake at the rear pillar’s edge recalls a similar element from the iconic Aventador. Reimagined for the future, they honour Lamborghini’s visually rich supercar design heritage while leading the way forwards.

Aerodynamic function was also keenly considered in every design element to precisely manage airflow, from the hexagonal DRLs with integrated deflectors and air tunnels to the underbody vortex generators. In particular, rear downforce has been improved by 103% over the Huracán EVO; the optional Alleggerita Pack boosts this to over 158% for even more focused driving. Its concave central roof channel maximizes airflow to the integrated rear spoiler, and aerodynamic performance is further enhanced by the engine hood’s curved sides. Enhanced brake ventilation improves overall caliper & disc cooling compared to the Huracán EVO, by 50% and 20% respectively.

Step into the Temerario and you will recognize a clear visual family link with the Revuelto: its instrument cluster, steering wheel, central screen, and even gearshift paddles are immediately familiar. This helps both driver & co-driver feel more quickly at home, in line with Lamborghini’s “feel like a pilot” concept. With a clear and intuitively operable HMI, all controls are within easy reach of ideal seating positions, while there is even space for a smartphone and wallet in the center console. Yes, Lamborghini has put serious thought into how owners will actually use their cars beyond just the occasional weekend morning drives, and actually made the Temerario more livable than ever before.

A completely new spaceframe chassis provides significantly more interior room than the Huracan, with low-slung ergonomic seating positions. Outwards visibility has improved by a useful 4.8°, while headroom has grown by 34 mm and legroom by 46 mm; now people even up to 200 cm tall can get comfortable while wearing a helmet. The front underhood storage compartment boasts 112 liters of maximum volume, equivalent to two cabin trolley bags & making this a genuinely usable supercar for even proper Grand Touring.

Thirteen individual driving mode experiences are selectable via the steering wheel rotors, with the upper left red-crowned rotor enabling selection of Città, Strada, Sport, Corsa and Corsa Plus chassis calibrations. Meanwhile, the upper right rotor governs Recharge, Hybrid and Performance mode selections for the hybrid system. There’s also Launch Control for especially thrilling standing starts, activated by depressing the “checkered flag” button for two seconds.

Two special launch colours are featured on the Temerario, Blu Marinus as shown here along with Verde Mercurius green. For owners after something more special, there is a deeper level of personalization than ever before via Lamborghini’s Ad Personam program, from over 400 body colors to a choice of three wheel rim designs and an extensive palette of carbon fiber elements for both the exterior & interior. Finally, the ‘Alleggerita’ (lightweight) package enhances the Temerario’s track driving prowess even further with a total weight reduction of over 25 kg when specified with all lightweight interior components and the carbon fiber wheel rims.

For those who are keen to experience the thrill of living with a Temerario themselves, it is now open for local orders via Lamborghini Kuala Lumpur, with prices starting from RM 1,350,000 before duties, taxes and personalization options.
