The year 2025 marks a colossal milestone for the renowned Swiss watch brand, Audemars Piguet, as it celebrates its 150th anniversary since its founding in 1875.

To honour this incredible, long-standing legacy, the brand’s APxMusic Programme has brought together two phenomenal musicians to create a dedicated anniversary track – long-time friend of the brand, Mark Ronson, and a brand-new addition to the AP family, the sensational RAYE.

These two musical powerhouses joined forces to birth a song titled Suzanne, and surely, this isn’t just like any song out there. It delves far deeper into Audemars Piguet’s rich history than one might imagine, paying heartfelt homage to the brand’s enduring legacy. And get this – its roots stretch back even further than 1875; which is the brand’s founding year!

The song is a powerful dedication to Suzanne Audemars, a truly prominent figure in the brand’s narrative. Her life was certainly not an easy one; she endured immense hardship and faced profound tragedies, including the devastating loss of her husband and three of her children. Left with her remaining three children, Suzanne, against all odds, managed to push through it all.

Despite everything she faced, Suzanne was an incredibly strong individual. She wasn’t just a stone-cutter; rumour has it she was also a herbalist, a healer, and even a smuggler! There are even legends told about her, like hiding treasure under her bed and sleeping with a rifle close by. Talk about resilience!

With invaluable help from her neighbours and parents, Suzanne did something truly amazing: she taught her three youngest children the watchmaking trade. She probably had no idea at the time, but in doing so, she essentially sparked a whole dynasty of watchmakers. And guess what? Audemars Piguet is a direct descendant of that very family legacy! Her actions undeniably set the stage for one of the world’s most famous watch brands.

Louis-Benjamin, one of Suzanne’s children, was just nine years old at the time. He was the first to usher the Audemars family into the annals of watchmaking history.

So, for this collaborative track, Suzanne, both Mark Ronson and RAYE aimed to create a song that would truly last – something, dare we say, timeless. And despite never having worked together before, these two musicians collaborated like a charm. They’ve given birth to a song that is deeply meaningful to the brand, beautifully reflects the human experience and life itself, and is, without a doubt, a work of pure artistry.
