Sunseeker has announced that its new 100 Yacht is in the running to win three awards at the renowned Boat International Design & Innovation Awards 2023. The exceptional vessel is now a finalist in the award categories of ‘Outstanding Motor Yacht Exterior’, ‘Outstanding Lifestyle Feature’, and ‘Innovation of the Year’.
In the category of ‘Outstanding Motor Yacht Exterior’, the Sunseeker 100 Yacht revolutionised the British shipyard’s approach to flybridge design and functionality. The concept design team had a clear vision of the opus since its early conception, featuring a low profile despite having a raised pilot house in the centre of the flybridge that increased the overall interior volume as they claim that this was a prerequisite. The vessel was drawn with Sunseeker’s signature aggressive lines, but improved with a new and contemporary look.
Next up in the ‘Outstanding Lifestyle Feature’ award category, the team packed the 100 Yacht with an abundance of entertainment features packed into the vast space of the flybridge cleverly zoned for a seamless leisure experience. The foredeck has two separate seating arrangements that can be fitted with a cinema screen, while the central flybridge highlights a L-shaped seating for lounging. She also comes equipped with a wet bar and space aft for free-standing furniture or even a spa bath.
The 100 Yacht has many unusual features for a yacht of its size that are typically found on a 40-metre vessel. The general arrangement allows owners and crew to operate independently without any disruption from one another. The port side is dedicated to crew access, with direct access from the galley to the flybridge for ease of serving food and drinks, while guests have access to stairs on the starboard side.
And finally, under the ‘Innovation of the Year’ award category, the shipyard boasts a design that is not just beautiful, but highly practical as well. The owner’s private terrace concept was inspired from the novel design solution of storing the anchor system in the bow, emphasising on a concealing complex systems that functions to maximise the use of space without compromising on any aesthetic appeal. The forepeak has a built-in recess design to house the anchoring system that allows for uninterrupted floor space to accommodate more free-standing furniture. The shipyard claims that intelligent integration throughout the 100 Yacht was made possible with its overall sophisticated structural design.
“We are thrilled to have been shortlisted in these prestigious design awards for a consecutive year. The rate of innovation at Sunseeker is one of the greatest in the industry, and we are proud of the design teams for their exceptional vision and, importantly, ability to realise a masterpiece. The 100 Yacht renderings are a true reflection of the build, a stunning exterior profile and head-turning aft when moored in the marina. There are living spaces typical of yachts 50 metres and above. Each environment is re-interpreted in its true living essence. Those who have stepped aboard have remarked on the beauty, functionality, comfort and innovation of the 100 Yacht,” Andrea Frabetti, Chief Executive Officer at Sunseeker International, commented.
