After a successful showcase at the Monaco Yacht Show, Heesen Yachts is proud to announce its appearance at this year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS), which will take place from October 30th to November 3rd. During this five-day show, Heesen Yachts will display three of its ships, boasting its expertise in the field of yacht construction. The United States happens to be the shipyard’s largest market, and Heesen Yachts is eager to expand its market following this boat show.
The three yachts on display by Heesen can be found at the Superyacht village – the 2022 50m semi-displacement Book Ends, the 2021 50m FDHF ELA, and the 2011 55m After You. All three yachts boast sturdy aluminium hulls, showcasing Heesen’s renowned skill in constructing high-performance vessels with this advanced material.

Book Ends and ELA are the shipyard’s most recent ones in the semi-custom offering, demonstrating the flexibility of their customisation options. Both owners of the yachts took full advantage of this to create yachts that perfectly reflect their personal style. The owners of Book Ends express their passion for design, creating unique loose furniture designed on their own. The owners of ELA, on the other hand, collaborated closely with designer Cristiano Gatto to create an interior that suits the owners’ lifestyles and tastes. As for After You, it showcases the shipyard’s full custom construction, exemplifying Heesen’s commitment to quality and timeless design.

“I am excited to attend the largest boat show in the world. The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is a pivotal event for us to connect with our clients and showcase our yachts to the American market. We are the only Northern European shipyard to offer yachts below 500GT with a fast delivery. The 50m hybrid Project Orion is available for sale with delivery scheduled for Q1 2025, while Project Sophia 50m semi-displacement is available for delivery in Q1 2026. Heesen’s unparalleled Dutch quality and craftsmanship, put us in a leading position.”
Ruud van der Stroom, Heesen CCO.
During a press conference at the Monaco Yacht Show, Heesen’s CEO, Niels Vaessen, emphasises the significance of the American market. He pointed out that the United States has a vast number of millionaires and a long-standing culture of yachting. Heesen has a strong track record of working with American clients who have consistently challenged the shipyard to innovate and push the limits of yacht design and construction.

“There is no question that the upcoming election has caused some American clients to stall on their purchase decisions. This is being reported across luxury industries and it is not surprising, especially considering other ongoing geo-political factors. Once the election results are confirmed we are expecting a level of confidence to return to the market. The boat show is ideally timed for us to connect with our client base and showcase Heesen for when they do feel comfortable to invest in their next yacht.”
Thom Conboy, Heesen US representative.
