Sunreef’s 60 Eco E-Motion will be introduced for the first time in Asia at the Singapore Yachting Festival on 10-13 April, shining a light on sustainable yachting by combining its eco-friendly approach with luxurious smoothness. The sailing yacht will be available for viewing by prior appointment at the ONE°15 Marina, with the debut model featuring a set of highly advanced 3Di carbon composite sails from North Sails. A tall, stiff rig gives it excellent upwind potential and impressive double digit performance while under sail, and the twin hulled catamaran design grants it a high degree of natural stability.

Sunreef founder and CEO Francis Lapp stated, “We are proud to be introducing the Sunreef 60 Eco at its first Asian show. This specific example encapsulates our rigorous approach to sustainability in yachting with itssolar skin and electric propulsion. And it shows that we are just as true to our sailing roots as ever-after all, wind power is still the ultimate form of renewable power.”

For calmer and less windy conditions, emissions free propulsion is also provided by an electric drivetrain with dual 60kW electric motors and a sizable 190kWh battery bank. Solar panels integrated into the yacht’s topsides also enable to generate renewable electricity by harnessing the power of the sun, with a maximum 15kW solar output meaning that it alone can supply the boat’s fully loaded energy needs on a sunny day. A highly efficient onboard diesel generator is also ready to recharge the battery on cloudier days, or when higher speeds are needed.

Sunreef’s DNA has always incorporated high levels of luxurious comfort, and here the 60 Eco is certainly a fully paid up member of the family. Guests can fully enjoy warmer days throughout its spacious deck areas including the large forward lounge and cockpit featuring a 10-person table. Up top the flybridge stretches across a full 36 square meters with an outdoor kitchen and generous lounging room.

All of the main deck level’s interior space is dedicated to the huge saloon is huge, accounting for all the interior space at main deck level, with the starboard area able to be adapted into an indoor dining space thanks to the extendable coffee table. The port side galley comes fully equipped with a high fridge and freezer, while the island integrates the electric oven and a wine cooler.

The port hull houses the owner’s accommodation, where a 180cm king-sized double bed and deep hull windows provide homely comfort with unbeatable views. A roomy bathroom with separate shower cubicle and walk-in wardrobe further add to its appeal as the cabin of choice. Yet guest comfort is also well catered for by three starboard en-suite double cabins, while two triple berthed cabins provide crew accommodation.

With this particular Sunreef 60 Eco destined for luxury charters in Phuket, Thailand, its quiet efficiency and comfort will be well suited for cruising among some of the world’s most beautiful waters and natural sights. More adventurous pursuits are also provided for with the large aft platform that can be lowered and turned into a beach club, or watersports dock and tender launcher.
