Oyster Yachts, the iconic builder of fine world-class luxury sailing yachts for open ocean adventures from Great Britain, has announced the striking new 80-foot Oyster 805 that combines superyacht savoir faire with exceptional bluewater capabilities, in a special Private View event hosted at London’s St Katharine Docks. This progressively vital step in the company’s evolution comes after their highly successful year of record-breaking sales and strong financial performance.

A highly defining moment for Oyster, this latest launch further reinforces their globally leading position as an industry pioneer in the ownership of bespoke luxury yachts for deep ocean exploration across further flung waters. They have strongly sustained this momentum by appointing former Rolls-Royce Motor Cars CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös as Strategic Advisor. Torsten’s leadership at the historically significant British carmaker transformed Rolls-Royce into a modern powerhouse of luxury, and his insight will be vital to Oyster as it further globalizes and refines its story.

Oyster Yachts CEO Ashley Highfield said: “The Oyster 805 will open a world of adventure to new and existing owners – and also mark a new chapter for Oyster. Amidst tough market conditions and global challenges, Oyster is having a record year for sales and these new products continue to differentiate us as we meet the growing demand for luxury adventure. The Oyster 805 heralds a new era for our fleet. She combines our classic styling with superyacht thinking and innovation into an 80-foot yacht, while delivering everything Oyster stands for: strength of construction, world-class craftsmanship, elegance, and the confidence to explore the world backed by our unrivalled global support services.”

The new Oyster 805 has been designed in collaboration with Humphreys Yacht Design to boast the next generation of bluewater performance, positioned between the 745 and 885 Series II in Oyster’s line-up. Generously sized hull ports and saloon windows define the new bluewater cruiser’s exterior, and allow large amounts of natural light to visually elevate the main saloon, master suite and guest cabins. The first 805 hull’s launch is expected to take place in 2027, and its built to order nature enables highly flexible, superyacht levels of internal configurability: one of the four cabins can even be converted into an owner’s private office, library or intimate lounge.

Richard Hadida, the Owner and Chairman of Oyster Yachts stated, “The Oyster 805 is the yacht I dreamed of when I took the helm at Oyster. She’s striking, luxurious, and built to take you anywhere. I’m proud of what she represents — the next generation of Oyster.”

Great flexibility is also a feature of the main saloon area, with an optional day bar configuration providing guests access to refreshments while maintaining a degree of separation to the galley. Further out on deck, a feature adapted from the Oyster 885 is the sunken tender well’s ability to transform into an impromptu lounge, with an integrated central cockpit daybed shaded by the fixed, solar-powered Starlight Bimini. A saloon daybed mirrors this configuration back indoors, placed beside the windows for impressive views of the deep oceans. Oyster’s interior designers have paired light woods with white upholstery to give the rest of the interior a refreshingly airy and light feel, bolstered by the abundance of natural lighting provided by the generous glazing stretching over two deck levels.

Other features of the 805 for more adventurous pursuits include a twin-access bathing platform, which can function as a launchpad for watersports, tender dock or additional outdoor lounge while at anchor. Certified by Lloyd’s, she even comes with a choice of two keel options – a standard 3.4 meter unit, or shallower 2.7 meter shoal keel that will enable her to access more remote anchorages including those in the Caribbean and Bahamas.

Enhancing the ownership journey of the 805 along with other vessels in their line-up, Oyster Yachts has also announced a series of training initiatives intended to familiarize owners with the intricacies and nuances of bluewater cruising. First among these will be The Explorers Club, highlighting the world’s most extraordinary sailing destinations. Inspired by the renowned Oyster World Rally’s spirit, the company’s expert team will wholly curate and support every voyage program to make open ocean adventuring accessible, safe, and most importantly memorable. It will enable owners to experience true adventure without compromising on comfort, from remote island chain visits to sailing jaunts at higher latitudes.

Through the Bluewater Academy, the company will also develop the skills of both emerging and experienced sailors alike through refined, personalized training aboard Oyster yachts. Experienced instructors will tailor each program to match its participants’ uniquely individual aspirations. Hands-on practical learning will be conducted in the context of real-world passages, familiarising participants with vessel operations, navigation, and life at sea. A focused yet flexible experience is ensured by small group or one-to-one formats. It will also connect participants to the global network of Oyster owners via events, exchange of knowledge, and sharing the adventures of world spanning bluewater exploration.
