Singapore Yacht Show Returns From 12-15 April 2018
Luxury yachts, exhibitions, sea trials, parties and the whole shebang, SYS is the perfect place to head to this April if you want to soak in the luxury yachting lifestyle in all its glory. Returning for its 8th Edition in two weeks time, the Singapore Yacht Show (SYS) is basically a potpourri of some of the finest brands (and their boats) in the global luxury yachting scene.
Brands like Heesen, Princess, Ferretti, Benetti, Azimut and Sunseeker will all return to the region for this yachting exhibition. Besides these staple names, renowned yachting designers Van Oossanen and Omega Architects will also be on deck to showcase their qualities and practices.
From the Princess Yachts section, the British brand will be presenting, in collaboration with Boat Lagoon Yachting, two new additions to the the marque’s flybridge range- the Princess 62 and Princess 55, both of which were also debuted at the recent Cannes Yachting Festival. Making its Asian premiere for Princess Yachts will be the Princess 30M and Princess S65.
There is even mention that the thoughtfully customized Princess 75 motor yacht will also be taking a bow at this year’s SYS experience. Nautical Habitat, a newcomer to SYS and to the region, will be debuting as an exclusive distributor of leading yacht brands and yacht brokering services, another key indicator of luxury yachting industry’s growing appeal in this Southeast Asian region.
Simpson Marine, a perpetual inclusion since the inception of SYS back in 2010, will be presenting the stunning cruising yacht, the Beneteau Oceanis 51.1. Beside’s this, the Hong Kong based retailer will also be showing the Sanlorenzo SL78, yet another Italian fiberglass, planing-hull motoryacht.
Italian yachting giants, Ferretti Group will be debuting the Ferretti FY780, presented by Hong Seh Marine. It’s part of the Italian yachting brand’s famous Tai He Ban collection, a special new range with design customisation aimed specifically at the Asian market. The other Italian yacht builder that will be showcasing a stylish motoryacht will be Azimut Yachts, introducing its Grande 27 Metri in Asia for the first time. If you must know, this particular yacht was recently crowned winner of the 2017 World Yachts Trophies’ “Most Achieved” Trophy in the 80′ to 125′ category. It won the award for its stellar use of carbon fibre in its construction choice that maximises on volume and surfaces.
With glamorous parties and an enviable range of prestigious products and lifestyle brands – from supercars, fine wine and high fashion to fine art and masterclass timepieces, it makes SYS one of THE fixtures to slot into your social calendar.
Multihulls have long been popular in South East Asia and have been particularly well-received at the Show. Not only do they offer expansive interior and exterior spaces, they also provide great stability while underway and at anchor. There will also be a string of catamarans making its Asian premiere such as the Lagoon 50 by Simpson Marine, and the Fountain Pajot MY44 by Multihull Solutions. Luxury catamaran manufacturer Sunreef Yachts will also be debuting the 40 Open Sunreef Power as well.
We’ve been at Sentosa Cove for this yachting show before and we’re going to be there again this year because it’s really quite the spectacle not just if you’re a pleasure boating connoisseur, but a real appreciator of a refined lifestyle. On top of the yachts destined to dock at Sentosa Cove, visitors of SYS 2018 can expect a bumper schedule of live demonstrations, trials, luxury retail, give-aways, wellness workshops and yacht cruises. There will also be the must-have line-ups of watercrafts for diving, fishing and water sports. Even your kids can join creative workshops and admire supercar displays, whilst you parents enjoy sommelier-led craft beer and wine tastings.
And to cap this year’s entire SYS experience, the celebratory “All That Glitters” Sentosa Ball will be setting the exciting tone from the word go. The socialite party will be held in the Grand Ballroom of the W Singapore at Sentosa on Thursday 12 April. This will be a fun and glamourous evening that brings together the world’s leading yachting personalities, Asia’s most influential people, yacht owners, and industry captains in an extravagantly stylish setting. A total of 350 VIP guests will celebrate the evening away whilst also discussing the developments of the growing Asian yachting market. This will also be the perfect time for yachting virgins to learn more about this grand way of living, so if you’ve never tasted the sights of a full-on yachting show, you best get this on your calendar. See you there!
