Ramadan buffets are undeniably a big aspect of Ramadan. One of the best ways to have Iftar (that is the breaking of a fast) is by indulging in a delectable buffet. For this Ramadan, Imperial Lexis Kuala Lumpur is offering the “Bufet Istimewa Cita Rasa Lexis.” Our team at The Grid Asia recently had the opportunity to preview the extensive menu, and let us tell you, it’s certainly a notable feast.

Imagine walking in, and instead of just a few tables, it’s like a culinary carnival. Stations upon stations of food stretch out before you, taking you on a culinary journey, leading to delicious discoveries. Honestly, if you’re the kind of person who struggles to decide what to eat, this is your paradise.

Perusing the spread felt less like choosing dinner and more like embarking on a mini-adventure. We started with the local appetisers, salads and savouries – a delightful medley of Gado-Gado, crispy Tempeh Goreng, and a variety of Kerabu. It’s like a warm hug of familiar flavours, a perfect start to your Iftar.

Now, for the mains. Where do we even begin? It wasn’t just Malaysian classics; it was a world tour on a plate. Aromatic Nasi Briyani, succulent Singapore Chili Crab, the sweet-and-sour punch of Ikan Tiga Rasa, and melt-in-your-mouth Rendang Daging. It’s a symphony of tastes, each dish a different instrument playing its part.

But the highlight of this extravagant Iftar show are the specialised stations. A charcoal grill, spitting flames and sending up plumes of smoky goodness, the crisp, golden crunch of tempura, and a whole roasted lamb. That lamb, though, was truly a star. Paired with a rich mushroom sauce, it would definitely have guests going for seconds.

And not to forget the seafood station, a treasure trove of crabs, mussels, prawns, and other oceanic delights. There is also a Japanese corner with fresh nigiri and maki rolls, perfect for those who favour the flavours of the land of the rising sun. Having Iftar with the fresh flavours of the sea sure sounds like a treat!

Of course, no Ramadan Iftar buffet is complete without dessert. And Imperial Lexis KL? They delivered. From traditional delights like Apam Balik and ABC, sweet little cakes in dainty cups, to creamy ice cream. There is also a majestic chocolate fountain, standing proud and tall as decadent melted chocolate cascades off of it, beckoning onlookers to dip in fruits and marshmallows. It was like a sweet, sugary dream.

The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for gathering with loved ones. It’s the kind of place where laughter flows as easily as the teh tarik. If you’re looking for a memorable Iftar experience, this is it.
