On the weekend of 24-25 May 2025, Lake Como once again played host to 2 of the global automotive calendar’s landmark events, in the form of Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este and FuoriConcorso. As always, the former celebrated and judged the stylistic nuances and technical excellence of historically significant cars, while the latter’s 2025 edition uniquely showcased Italian racing cars & motorsport heritage with its theme of “Velocissimo”. As could be expected in the nation that practically invented motor racing, Lamborghini’s supercars featured prominently at both events.

Standing out as the only Lamborghini entered at Villa d’Este’s Concorso, a Polo Storico certified 1972 Miura SV proudly symbolized the brand’s legacy there. Appearing in a striking red color scheme, this example represented the final & most powerful evolution of the legendary Miura, widely recognized as the world’s first supercar and an icon of Sant’Agata Bolognese ever since 1966. Chassis #5020 was entered in Class C, “Renaissance: The Post-War European Sports Car Comes of Age,” and was noted for its prestigious certification by Polo Storico which is an increasingly significant & influential presence in the top level international concours scene. Having recently made a dynamic appearance at The ICE on St. Moritz’s frozen lake, this Spinto Veloce expanded its presence in the European automotive scene with this esteemed participation at Lake Como.

Just a few steps further along the shores of Lake Como, the gardens of Villa Grumello and Villa Sucota made evocatively mesmerizing backdrops for Fuoriconcorso. With this year’s “Velocissimo” edition specially dedicated to Italy’s storied competition cars, several standout historic Raging Bulls were present as the star highlights. An orange Diablo SVR drew many onlookers with its beastly race-bred presence, having made a prior visit to Lamborghini headquarters for the inspection required to obtain its Polo Storico Certificate of Authenticity, with official confirmation presently pending.

Those who came of age in the 80s would doubtless have been more taken by the striking white, ex-Jean Claude Mimran LP400 S “Countach Pace Car”, so nicknamed after seeing action as the 1981-1982 Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix Safety Car – a feat that instantly made it one of Lamborghini’s most iconic supercars not just in motorsport, but even among the global collector car sphere itself. Here it received its Certificate of Authenticity directly from Lamborghini Polo Storico, with the official certification book documenting and validating all of its historical information formally handed over to the owner right at Villa Grumello itself.

A rare Lamborghini Formula 1 car rounded out the renowned supercar manufacturer’s presence at FuoriConcorso, presented in an excellently preserved condition and exhibited directly from the Lamborghini Museum’s collection itself.
