Over the recent several years, Porsche has been evocatively embedding its presence into the fertile minds populating the creative community via collaborative partnerships with many of the world’s great figures of design, fashion, music and the arts. With this in mind, Porsche Italia is celebrating its historic 40th anniversary by creating two special-edition models in collaboration with the Florentine luxury fashion house Ferragamo, based on the 911 Carrera 4 GTS and Taycan 4S respectively. Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur’s experts have elaborately refined both cars’ exteriors & interiors in the fashion brand’s style, with a particular highlight being the special Ferragamo collection inspired Blusogno colour conveying a subtle elegance throughout.

Porsche & Ferragamo have more in common than ‘just’ a branded luxury name: both companies were founded by pioneering individuals who drove their dreams into success stories continuing right to the present day. Salvatore Ferragamo initially found acclaim as Hollywood’s ‘shoemaker of dreams’ by crafting bespoke shoes for movie stars, before returning to Italy and settling near Florence in 1927. Meanwhile, Ferry Porsche realized his ideal sports car vision by building the 356 ‘No. 1’ Roadster in 1948, marking the conception of Porsche’s steadfast brand whose cars remain highly sought after today.

Pietro Innocenti, CEO of Porsche Italia said, “Our dream was to create something truly unique that embodies the spirit that has guided us for the past 40 years: Porsche style combined with Italian culture and aesthetics. That’s why we chose Ferragamo as a partner for this project – a brand with which we share values such as excellence of craftsmanship, timeless elegance and a tireless attention to detail. The collaboration with Ferragamo and the team at Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur in Zuffenhausen has enabled us to implement this vision in a way that is both authentic and forward-looking. These values will continue to inspire and guide us in the future.”

Leonardo Ferragamo, Chairman of Salvatore Ferragamo & Salvatore’s son added, “When Porsche asked Ferragamo to contribute to this anniversary, the main idea was to change as little as possible and focus on refined details. Because Porsche is already perfect. The aim of this collaboration was to create an authentic and meaningful synergy between two iconic brands that both share the same values: design, excellence, craftsmanship and the courage to innovate. We wanted to tell an emotive story rooted in the idea of dreaming. My father Salvatore was known as ‘the shoemaker of dreams’, while Porsche continues to be driven by dreams.”

“Both Porsche and Ferragamo are characterised by a signature design that is of timeless elegance. We have taken this minimalist, purist approach to the extreme with the ’40 Anni Porsche Italia’ models. Salvatore Ferragamo experimented a lot with unusual natural materials. This encouraged us to take unusual paths in the interior and to dye the Paldao wood blue – a novelty for us at Porsche that emphasises the understated character of these limited-edition models,” added Grant Larson, Director Special Projects Design at Porsche.

The project saw both design teams working closely throughout its process. Ferragamo’s team made their way to Zuffenhausen, while team members of Porsche and Porsche Italia were hosted in Florence.

The project’s resulting special shade of Blusogno was exclusively developed via Porsche’s Paint to Sample Plus programme, using leather & fabric samples from iconic Ferragamo bags and signature fashion pieces. As a further visual inspiration from Ferragamo design elements, precisely drawn fine lines in white convey added measures of elegance and dynamism, precisely following airflow paths through both cars’ front lids and rear spoilers.

Both cars also wear commemorative B-pillar plaques reading 40, 1985 – 2025 & Porsche Italia in tribute to the 40th anniversary, raised slightly above the surface for that welcome added element of tactility. Their Blusogno painted wheels are also finished with hand-painted white pinstripes, with Blusogno wheel hub covers strikingly contrasting red Porsche crests.

Naturally, the special colour is strongly presented throughout both cars’ interiors, with special leather & yarn materials made especially for this project. Blusogno leather upholstery is used for the front and rear seats, GT sports steering wheels and centre console details; as well as the 911’s gear lever sides. The white exterior accent lines are mirrored with Modern Pebble Grey seat piping, and the GT sports steering wheels’ central 12 o’clock markings.

A further interior finish of note is Blusogno coloured Paldao wood, used to trim the 911’s dashboard and centre console. For the Taycan, its door panels’ large wooden surfaces are characterized by contrasting colours, with a blue upper part & elegant black lower section. There’s another tribute to Italy in the bespoke SportChrono dashboard clock dials with Italian Tricolour green, white and red painted rings, while black brushed aluminium door sill guards proudly integrate white illuminated Ferragamo logos.

Both special edition anniversary models are available exclusively for the Italian market in strictly limited numbers.
