The Aston Martin DBX 707, fastest and most powerful luxury SUV in the world to this day, has finally been unveiled at the Etiqa Twins Aston Martin Showroom on the 1st of September 2022.

This super SUV houses a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine more than capable of churning out 707 hp (hence the name) with 900 Nm. Based on the highly acclaimed DBX, the 707 elevates every measurable aspect to deliver heightened performance and supreme dynamics, outperforming the predecessor SUV by a remarkable 157 hp and 200 Nm.

The DBX 707 is fitted with a 9-speed automatic transmission tasked to handle the raw power engine that spits out the greatest output ever recorded in a production. And also for the first time ever in Aston Martin productions, the 707 is fitted with a ‘wet clutch’ transmission linked to an electronic limited slip rear differential that has been strengthened to successfully manage the 900 Nm torque.

Thanks to the notable improvements in engineering, the luxury SUV can be launched from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds, albeit the General Manager of Aston Martin Malaysia, Mr Kumara Sooriar Sivanasan, claiming this to be an understatement as the fastest the SUV ever recorded was in fact a mere 3.1 seconds. But of course, such recordings may be affected by various conditions, so it seems reasonable for the British car maker to undersell the stats to better manage expectations.

In terms of speed, the DBX 707 tops out at 310km/h, accrediting it to be the fastest and most powerful luxury SUV in the world to date despite other super SUVs, such as the Lamborghini Urus Performante, being launched after the DBX 707’s global debut in February.

And to accentuate the sporty and driver-focused credentials, the DBX 707 features GT Sport and Sport+ driving modes highlighting a “Race Start” to impart drivers with the full experience of the vehicle’s unrivaled acceleration. Drivers can also opt to switch to full manual without any interruptions from the electronic systems, allowing them to exploit the shorter drive ration of 3.27 for a quicker acceleration in lower gears while retaining efficiency and cruising refinement.

Visually, the most prominent distinction between the 707 and the previous DBX is the large front grille defined by six double-vaned horizontal bars and newly-designed daytime-running lights (DRL). Paired with new air intakes, brake cooling ducts, and new front splitter profile, the newly introduced aero enhancements boost overall performance whilst creating a unique visual profile for the range-topping SUV.
