Curvistan Bangkok, a leisure space for Porsche enthusiasts, opened its doors in August 2024. This innovative venue, a collaboration between Stefen Bogner and Chanond Ruangkritya, offers a unique blend of a bar, a café, and an art gallery.

Supported by Porsche Asia Pacific and Porsche Thailand, Curvistan Bangkok is more than just a hangout spot. It’s a platform for Porsche enthusiasts to connect and share their passion. This year-end season, the venue will host a special limited-time exhibition, “Porsche Unseen Design Studies,” featuring a collection of concept cars designed by Michael Mauer, the Vice President of Style Porsche at the Porsche Design Studio in Weissach for the past 20 years. This exhibition serves as a unique opportunity to see a collection of Porsche’s hidden design gems, all in one place, for the first time in Thailand.

The highlight of the exhibition is the “Vision Spyder,” a 1:1 scale model of how Mauer’s team imagined a modern, small, and sporty roadster. Drawing inspiration from the lightweight and minimalist design philosophy of 1950s Porsche models, particularly the iconic 550 Spyder, the “Vision Spyder” showcases a spartan cockpit, a flat radiator grille over the mid-engine, striking red racing stripes, and subtle rear fins.

Visitors at Curvistan Bangkok can get an early glimpse of the one-off Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade before its official Thai debut in December. Crafted through Porsche’s Sonderwunsch programme, this one-of-a-kind electric sports car pays homage to Southeast Asia with its unique design elements and mythical symbols. The car’s captivating Chromaflair paint job shifts colour with the light, making it a truly mesmerising sight to behold.

In addition to the two main attractions, the exhibition showcases other 1:3 scale model concepts. These include the Macan “Vision Safari”, an SUV-turned-overland design experiment, as well as futuristic hypercars like the “Vision 918 RS” and “Vision 920”. The exhibition also features the “Vision E”, a design study exploring the potential of a customer-focused Formula E race car.

The Porsche Unseen collection was one of the most fulfilling projects I’ve ever done, and to be able to bring this to Curvistan Bangkok is a dream come true. We hope design fans, Porsche fans and car enthusiasts in Thailand and beyond make Curvistan a bookmark on their next trip to Bangkok – because this is definitely one exhibition they wouldn’t want to miss!

The “Porsche Unseen Design Studies” exhibition is currently held at Curvistan Bangkok until February 28, 2025. Admission is free, and the venue is open daily from 8 AM to 6 PM.
