Found within the famed mini-city of Dubai, Madinat Jumeirah, is the Jumeirah Dar Al Masyaf – a luxurious retreat featuring Arabian Houses nestled within vibrant gardens and tranquil waterways, in addition to being just a stone’s throw away from their exclusive beach. The resort introduces their newly refurbished Arabian Houses, and guests staying at the resort will be greeted with a tailored journey, designed to give guests a wonderful, relaxing experience of tradition combined with modern luxury.
The stay at Jumeirah Dar Al Masyaf is not simply just a stay. The resort offers exclusive experiences to guests which highlight Dubai’s rich cultural heritage. The arrival of the guests are celebrated grandly, albeit in a rather unique way. Guests would board traditional abra boats, floating across the waterways and passing through a magnificent set of doors before being greeted by their host. The resort boasts carefully designed gathering spaces, encouraging guests to connect socially and indulge in delicious local treats. One such gathering space is the ‘majlis’, which is an Arabic term that means ‘sitting room’, and the local treats served include artisanal teas and daily aperitifs. Of course, the resort also reserves spaces for guests to unwind, reflect and refresh themselves, such as the courtyards and terraces. Dive one step deeper into Dubai’s culture with the traditional bukhoor burning ritual – the burning of the scented wood chips would fill the air with a relaxing aroma.
Each Arabian House is equipped with its own traditional majlis and private courtyard, along with 9 to 11 private rooms. From intimate gatherings, to large-scale gatherings, such as multi-generational family retreats, the Arabian House can be booked exclusively to cater for every guest’s needs. Complete with attentive hosts, each guest can spend their time at the resort freely, whether it be sunbathing at the lush sandy beaches, or relaxing in the serene pools. Additionally, the resort provides exciting experiences for guests of all ages. Guests can take part in the tea planting ceremony to leave their legacy at the resort, and there is also a candy bicycle that visits daily, much to the delight of the children.
Though the amenities provided within the resort are splendid, guests may also explore the famed Madinat Jumeirah city which features a multitude of thrilling activities. From over 50 restaurants and bars and a private beachfront, to the tranquil Talise Spa and a fully refurbished Kids’ Club with mini-golf. There is also the J Club, a luxury fitness centre for the health conscious individuals who would want to keep up their health regime even while on vacation.
“The unveiling of the Arabian Houses marks a significant milestone for Jumeirah Dar Al Masyaf as we celebrate our 20th anniversary,” says Peter Roth, the Regional Vice President at Madinat Jumeirah and General Manager of Jumeirah Al Qasr.
“This is a moment to honour our rich history while looking forward to the future of this treasured resort. Madinat Jumeirah inspired a new approach to hospitality in Dubai two decades ago, and with that legacy comes the responsibility to continuously innovate. As demand for authentic travel experiences grows, Jumeirah Dar Al Masyaf remains steadfast in its commitment to offering traditional Arabian hospitality matched with moments of enriched connection and conversation, bespoke to every guest.”
The Arabian Houses were designed by Sahar Al Yasser, founder of the esteemed La Bottega Interiors. The interior and exterior design utilises a neutral palette, fused with a hint of vibrant colours to create a peaceful yet exciting atmosphere. In line with Jumeirah’s commitment to sustainability, the design incorporates natural materials such as natural fabrics and upcycled glass and timbers.
“It was an honour to collaborate with Jumeirah Dar Al Masyaf on the refurbishment of its stunning Arabian Houses. Our vision was to create a realm where interior design transcends the ordinary, embracing the essence of Arabia with an artful fusion of authenticity and contemporary palettes to cultivate a sense of profound peace,” says Sahar Al Yasser.
