Industry Flagship Commences Flight-Test Program.
Earlier in February this year, Gulfstream Aerospace Corp., which is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics, announced the first flight made by their recently introduced all-new Gulfstream G700™, which had demonstrated the program’s maturity. This also officially marks the launching of the rigorous flight-test program of the most spacious jet in the industry, with the longest range at the fastest speeds.
The G700 made its first flight departing Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport at 13:19 last February and landed 2 hours and 32 minutes later, making the flight on a 30/70 blend of sustainable aviation fuel.

The all-new Gulfstream G700™ was introduced as the new industry flagship last October 2019 with a full-scale cabin mock-up and an aircraft taxiing under its own power. The program also included five already manufactured flight-test aircraft aircraft and a structural test article that has completed load testing.
The G700 features the longest, widest and tallest cabin in the industry with 20 Gulfstream panoramic oval windows and up to five living areas. The aircraft introduces many all-new interior differentiators, including an ultragalley with more than 10 feet of counter space and a crew compartment or passenger lounge; the industry’s only ultra-high-definition circadian lighting system; speakerless surround sound; and a master suite with shower.
Powering the G700 would be via the Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines refined with Gulfstream-designed aerodynamics and an all-new winglet. The many combinations of engineering expertise placed within the aircraft enables the G700 to fly at its high-speed cruise of Mach 0.90 for 6,400 nautical miles (11,853 kilometres) or at its long-range cruise of Mach 0.85 for 7,500 nautical miles (13,890 kilometres). The G700 also includes the Gulfstream Symmetry Flight Deck™ with the industry’s only electronically linked active control sidesticks, the most extensive use of touchscreen technology in business aviation and Gulfstream’s award-winning Predictive Landing Performance System.
